Saudi Arab Main part 1 Question for today' session,

A great change in the international scenario, especially so, in the backdrop of Islamic Movements, those countries where religious thought is in force. We all are aware that the scenario in Saudi Arabia is changing. Though it appears the same on the political horizon, however, their religious tendencies and their outward identity, all of that seems to be changing now. That country which was identified by religion, what we call a kind of traditionalism, not compromising on the fundamental religious practices. Today we see women driving, concerts are also taking place, and the country is being opened for tourists too, with inflows of Non-Muslims as well. Today Western culture and its influence of the Western Society, the whole country is in a way moving towards a cultural shift. My question to you is, about the country which, after the religion of Islam, or political Islam, or after the Islamic Revolution a target has been made that when religion is implemented then in such a form would it be implemented. The same country is now moving towards a change. How do you see this change, how has it come? Ahmed Ghamidi. This world is a workshop of change! Changes are constantly taking place here. If we look back in history, this has been going on often and on. In well as in other Muslim countries, changes in governments and monarchs have often accompanied such changes. Governments are formed, or some changes occur, a new foundation for change is laid there. Human nature is so formed that we cannot limit it to a single mode of operation. If we form a despotic system, we saw what had been the consequence in Russia, we are seeing it in China as well, for how long can we impose something forcefully on others? There aren't any far-reaching effects of this. Generally, this has been observed. Irrespective of all this, we should see what was going on before this and what is going on now? My opinion is that we should have the basics clear with regard to it. This land has a special status. This status has been awarded to it by the Lord of this universe. Allah has told us that this is the land where His last Messenger had been appointed. And this was not chosen at that time rather it had been chosen thousands of years back at the time of Ibrahim A.S. This is the land where, the House of Allah had been constructed. All over the world and till the time this world exists people would turn to this House, the concept of Divinity which develops in our mind isn't something physical, nor is it to be imagined as some. However, on Earth, a tangible embodied symbol of divinity is assigned to this House of God itself. i.e. it is a Masjid, like places of worship are established, however, for all the mosques, its status is that of a mother. Ismail A.S. was handed over its custodianship, he settled down here. It has been chosen by Allah. While choosing it this too has been clarified that here the Deena of Allah will always abide. Among the objectives for the appointment of the Prophet, one big objective which has been stated in the Quran, that those people who were entrusted with its custodianship, had turned it, to use an expression of A.S., into a den of thieves. They had established the tradition of Shirk here. Not just this, rather, the superstitions of polytheism had been established in the form of a complete religion. And in this way there had been a lot of offenses which they had been indulging in, hence it was said that the first and foremost should be the Purification of this House. And its complete history was stated in the Quran. Along with it, Guidance was given that when Allah had said to Ibrahim to build this House, at that time, He had instructed as well for the arrangement of Salah, and the maintenance of its sanctity, religious seclusion, and for Hajj, And along with it, was stated about this complete peninsular, that the way, We had once upon time chosen Palestine, in the same way, the land has been selected as well, now religion here would only be of Allah, other than this there can't be another religion here. This objective was realized through the Prophet. Its custodianship was also taken away from them. And even if someone wishes to reside from among the People of the Scriptures, they will have to dwell in subordination. This was told. And Deena, the Deena of Allah, and that Deena of Allah which has been sent through the Prophets, that is only Islam. And other than Islam, there is no concept of Deena here. The same command has been clarified by this Arabian Peninsula, there will never be another Deena alongside Allah's Deena. So these are the Commands of Deena and the Shariah with regard to it. The people who live there, they do not have any other option other than that they believe in the Deena of Allah, they follow it and are ready to follow its guidelines, then this land belongs to them, they should dwell there. If they forsake this Deena then it is the Command of Allah that for them as well there is no shelter on this land, I must tell you about the special status enjoyed by this land. It is not just the responsibility of Bani Ismael to maintain this status. Being Muslims, we all are entrusted with this responsibility. And we have to strive properly so that we draw others' attention, and even if we have to sacrifice our everything for it, we should not falter on it. Since this is the land that assumes the central position of this Deep, This is where lies the Universal Center .the whole world were commanded to present themselves, prepare and set out for its Hajj this importance and significance, irrespective of its Rulers and the period of their rule, or their departure, this status will never ever change. I have stated this for the reason that there are changes in politics, and political conditions, however, with regard to Deep, what is the importance of this land, and what status has it been awarded in Deep, and the responsibility of the people of that land with respect to it, and what is our responsibility, there is no ambiguity in it. The complete tradition of knowledge of Muslims report it in this manner. Now see the revolution that had come here, and we are aware that more or less 100 years back this revolution took shape. Before this, the Turks were ruling. And we know what had been the nature of the Ottomans? Before them, a Muslim Empire had been established. It has also happened that there had been attacks here. Revolts had also been taking place here. There had been a period, and they wreaked havoc here, hence the change which has come now, is significant from the aspect, as it has taken place as a result of a religious we can say from an Islamic movement. i.e. a great reformer was born there, Muhammad Bin Abdul, presently, we are not going to discuss his thoughts or views. You or I may differ from them, however, he was a reformer. He endeavored among his neighboring regions and Chieftains. the beginning. And then it became the objective of this whole clan to establish their Rule over. If you go through the writings and look at the conditions prevailing in those times, they used to think that this land, that was chosen by Allah, should be free from all types of Shirk, and all types of Bid'.  this is quite an exceptional thing in its own self and I just now said about this land that the responsibility to get it rid of Shirk and Bid'at, and the people. We all wish this. Hence, among the Muslims too, the people took this as a welcome change.
