A new achievement for the Kingdom's Aviation sector, as King Khalid International Airport of Riyadh won the award of the world's best improved and developed airport for the year 2022.
This comes on the sidelines of the Passenger Terminal Expo in Paris, during the Skytrax World Awards Ceremony, which is concerned with evaluating airlines and airports between more than 550 airports around the world.
Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport also ranked 29th in the Skytrax list of 100 best airports in the world, jumping 29 places, after it was 58th in the last year list.
Riyadh's International Airport also achieved 3rd place in list of the top 10 airport in the Middle East. In the category of the best airport employees in the Middle East, King Khalid International Airport won 3rd place. This award is based on comprehensive standards for the quality of services provided through front line sites.
The CEO of the Riyadh Airports company, Eng. Mohammed Al-Maghlouth said, We are proud of this new international achievement, which added to the record of King Khalid International Airport, which is full of successes. This comes directly from our passengers who have shared their experiences of traveling through Riyadh Airport through Skytrax survey.

Skytrax Awards are based on surveys about global airports completed by more than 100 nationalities of airport travelers within 8 months. The survey mentioned customer experience across airport KPIs from check-in, transportation, shopping, security, passports and customs until the departure to the gate.
About Riyadh's international airport
King Khalid International Airport (IATA: RUH, ICAO: OERK), also known as Riyadh Airport, serves the city of Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. It is the second largest airport in the country after Jeddah Airport.
Riyadh Airport is located 35 kilometers (22 mi) north of Riyadh.
At Riyadh Airport there are three operative terminals: Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 5, together with the Royal Terminal.
Terminals 1, 2 and 5 are connected by moving walkways and shuttle bus service (Terminal 5).
Terminal 1: Riyadh Airport Terminal 1 handles international services excepting for Air France, Saudia and Nas Air flights.
Terminal 2: Air France, Saudia and Nas Air international services are hosted in Riyadh Airport Terminal 2.
Terminal 3 and Terminal 4: Riyadh Airport Terminal 3 and Riyadh Airport Terminal 4 used to operate domestic flights. They are currently inoperative, although both are being redesigned to increase the passenger capacity.
Terminal 5: Riyadh Airport Terminal 5 is the newest terminal, opened in 2016. Handles domestic flights and links with 5 different destinations in Saudi Arabia. Transfer between terminals via shuttle bus service (runs every 10 minutes approx.)
