Population Control Bill: Will India be able to handle its overpopulation crisis?

During the mansoon sessions, a few members of parliament tabel a draft before Ram Nath Kovind, demanding a population cantrol bill.

If the bill get passed in indian parliament, the tow child policy will be introduced in the country.

What is a Tow - child Policy?

Tow-child policy, famously known as 'hum do humare do' is a term which has been frequently Uesd in public via advertisements on truks or on public walss.

The term is not new to Indians, especially.

It has previously been used in Vietnam
Since 2016 , it has been implemented in China, replacing its previous One-child policy.

With inflation on an all-time-hingh in India, families nowdays are getting smaller as they aren't even able to feed a single child.

WHAT DOSE POPULATION CONTROL BILL SAY?

The Act may be called as Population Control Act,2016 and it extends to the whole of India
According to the act, no person shall procreate more then teo living children after the period of one year from the commencement of this Act.

India's population to rice higher in the future

As per the East Asia Forum report, in 2050, India's population is projected to be 1.69 billion which will be higher then that of China.

The population of China is estimated to be 1.31 billion in the same year.

Demand for water and food to rice

In india, the global demand for water in 2050 is projected to be more then 50 per cent what is was in 2000.

According to the same report the deamand for food will double in the year 2050 and even if india manages to feed its expanding population, its growth may not be ecologically sustainable.
