PM Modi praises the Supreme Court's upholding of Article 370's abrogation as a "testament of collective resolve for united India."
To the "resilient" people of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also gave his word that the Central government will never waver in its commitment to "fulfilling their dreams."
The Supreme Court's decision on Article 370 was applauded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who said it is not only a legal ruling but also a ray of optimism.
"The ruling on X, with the hashtag #NayaJammuKashmir, is not merely a court decision; it is a glimmer of hope, a pledge of a better future, and evidence of our coordinated determination to construct a more powerful, unified India," the prime minister wrote.
"Historic and constitutionally upholds the decision taken by the Parliament of India on August 5, 2019; it is a resounding declaration of hope, progress, and unity for our sisters and brothers in Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh," PM Modi continued, praising the top court's decision to revoke Article 370.
"The Prime Minister said that the Court, in its deep wisdom, has strengthened the very core of unity that we, as Indians, cherish and value above all else."
On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised as "historic" the Supreme Court's decision to uphold the government's move to revoke Article 370 of the Constitution. In addition to being a legal ruling, he described it as a "beacon of hope" and evidence of everyone's will to forge a stronger, more cohesive India.
The response came after the Supreme Court's judgment in 2019 to support the Union government's decision to withdraw the special status—given to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir by Article 370—that had been accorded to it. In addition, the court ordered that Jammu and Kashmir's legislative assembly elections take place by September 30, 2024.
