Pharmacy is very good a career option, it is life-saving job, nowadays, a lot of diseases spreading day by day. In present "COVID-19" pandemic situation demands of medicines and medical workers increases.
Pharmacy is defined as "To compound and dispense medication".
Pharmacopoeia - is an official publication of which contain a list or standards of drug or a stock of requirement of manufacturing, quality and standards of drugs and other ingredient which is used for formulation of a doges form.

It is a book official book which list of all the approved drugs with their formulation and quality standard techniques and information about other additives which are important in the formulation.
Indian Pharmacopoeia(I.P.), British Pharmacopoeia(B.P.), United States Pharmacopoeia (U.S.P). These are Pharmacopoeia of some countries.
Roles of pharmacist in different pharmaceutical area:
1. pharmaceutical Industry - Medicine formulation is taking place in these industries. In a medicine there are different ingredients like pharmaceutical active ingredient or drug and other additives which helps in formulation of a particular doges form, following are the departments present in a pharmaceutical industry:
a. Production - in this department, production of a medicine take place.
b. Quality control - Qualitative and quantitative analysis of drug is doing here.
c. Quality analysis - Documentation work of the medicine its safety, quality check and legal work done here,
d. packaging - Packaging and labelling is also a very important through which information about medicine, warning and storage is provided.
e. Research & development - A pharmacist having a great role in R&D discovery of new drug and any changes which improve therapeutic value or decrease harmful effect is also a pharmacist job.
2. Hospital pharmacy or pharmacy shop - There are several rules to manage a pharmacy and dispense medicines according to their patient's prescription.
3. Clinical pharmacist - A clinical pharmacist direct provide patient care with other professional workers for better outcomes with prescribed medicines.
Pharmacy contains several branches which are as follows
1. Pharmacology - In this branch you can learn about Pharmacokinetics & dynamics where what drug does to the body and what body does to the drug is studied.
2. Medicinal chemistry - chemistry of a drug is very important to identify drug properties and to make changes for increase in drug's therapeutic value.
3. Pharmaceutics - it is also a very important subject in the field of pharmacy, in this subject you can learn about drug formulation in a particular doges form.
Herbal drugs - in this branch, you can learn about medicinal plants and their therapeutic value.
Pharmacy practice - in the pharmacy practice dispensing of drugs, role of pharmacist and pharmacy rules are studied.
Pharmacy as a career can be defined broadly in two ways:
1- Private
2- Government
In private sector, you can do a job or may do your own business.
Business- A registered pharmacist can do his own business. A pharmacist may start a business as whole seller, retailer and also may start a manufacturing unit or a pharma industry. A pharmacist also start a pharmacy in a hospital.
Job - There are a lot of job option for a pharmacist, in industrial sector you can do job in different departments of pharmacy like: Manufacturing, Quality control, Quality analysis, Research and development, and packaging unit are departments of a pharma industry where a pharmacist can do job. Pharmacist can also do marketing.
Academic sector, is also a respectful option.
In the clinical sector, a pharmacist may be a hospital pharmacist, junior pharmacist, and a clinical pharmacist.
Government sector - In every government sector, like railway, army, they're having their own hospitals where pharmacist needed.
Drug inspector is also a good career option in government sector.
