Analysts believe that if DRM technology is really causing the lag, the PS3 gaming console's gains wouldn't suffer too much. However, if the reasons are what they believe (development of graphics chips), the impact on sales is probably the worst in Sony's history. Sony disagrees with analysts' assessment of the situation and denies that the delays put the PS3 gaming console and the company at a disadvantage over Microsoft and Xbox 360. Xbox 360 came out in stores last year and is still the best gaming console according to market trends. Jennie Kong, PR manager for Sony's European office, defends the company's strategy and says the company is not dictated by the movements of its competitors. However, history confirms analysts' views on the matter.
