Online Games and why they have blown up and their effects

In the late 1970s, the madness of the video game began with the advent of computer technology. As a result of nature, people began to write their own home computer games. This couple of entertainment programs trade and sell these home games at local markets.

Other changes in the 1970s were home toys that used game cartridges. That meant people could collect game cartridges for one basic unit instead of having big game console systems.

The 80s - some stop before the storm

The 1980s saw an increase in the popularity of video and computer games, but online games had not yet reached the horizon. New games with better sound and graphics were introduced and gained popularity. Pepsi-man, due to its never-ending gameplay, has also gained a lot of popularity. It was in the mid-1980s when Nintendo launched its first gaming platform.

The 90s - the revolution begins

The 1990s saw dramatic growth in both popularity and technology due to the rise of 3-D and multimedia.

Myst, a clever adventure game, introduced games in CD-ROM format. The fancier 3-D graphics hardware has made FPS (first-person shooter) games like Quake possible.

The late 1990s saw the remarkable growth of the internet, the multi-user holes that made online games become very popular. New and improved graphics connectivity have made people around the world play competitively not only in First-Person Shooters (FPS) but also in real-time strategy games (RTS games) and third-party games such as Grand Theft Auto.

This is also the time when websites start offering online games like Tetris, ping pong, Mario bros, and other free online flash games and free flash games for free to play after registration with it. This has provided a push to online games, which has allowed them to take over the internet.

The 21st Century - the world is just a playground

The early 21st century was full of DVD-CD-ROM. It has changed the way games are played online. The latest gaming consoles such as Sony's gaming channel and Microsoft's X-box have interactive features so that people can play alone in real-time around the world. Broadband internet services are growing extremely fast, making playing online games possible in the true sense of the word.

The only answer to the ever-changing technology of online gaming is that what you buy today may expire next year. Fortunately, for aspiring players, the online retail industry is huge. This retail industry is just one of the ever-changing histories of the online game.

Unfortunately, this has also led to some consequences. Children have become addicted and have stopped paying attention to other important things. Social interaction is on an all-time low and people prefer to stay inside and play games instead of going out and socializing. Staring at a screen for prolonged periods of time has adverse effects on the eyes. Also, the introduction of "Pay to play" and "Play to win" games is a problem, as the one who has money to spare can gain unfair advantages. This also leads to the spread of toxicity, trash-talking can make a game frustrating instead of fun.
