Okra is a popular vegetable, which grows into an upright and edible fruit. Okra is grown as an important vegetable crop in the subtropical areas, tropical areas and the warm temperate regions of the world. Okra is a dicotyledonous plant and considered as an annual or perennial plant. Its height is tall (around 2 meters). This plant is related to other species such as Hibiscus, cotton and cocoa. Its better growth is considered in the well-drained soil, which is rich in humus. This is best suited for its better growth, but it can also survive in many types of soil with pH ranging from 6 to 6.7. Okra grows in a well-drained humus containing soils, but its better growth is observed in sandy loam.

 Due to the ability of Okra seeds to maintain the blood glucose concentration, it is mainly used in medicine. But the powdered drugs made from okra seeds have maximum effect, and this research has been claimed traditionally. Quercetin, 3-O-gentiobioside, flavonoids, and the extract of okra seeds in ethanol perform an important role for lessening the blood sugar level. According to the new research, high insulin level decreased the blood glucose levels in mice.

 The sticky material of okra consider to be a dietary meal and used as a major component in Asia and African traditional medicine and these medicines are used to treat the gastric irritations and inflammatory diseases. The adhesion of H. pylori to stomach tissues control with the help of Polysaccharides, which are used for the treatment of gastric problems and inflammatory illnesses. 

 Medicine constitutes Okra extract as an important ingredient at commercial scale. The ability of Okra seeds to produce stable acidic emulsions, oil water emulsions and its rheological behavior are the evident role of Okra in the production of complex materials and the food foams. The root parts and stem parts of okra are used for cleaning the canes of juice packing, from which Jagger (brown/sugar) is prepared. In the paper industry fibers of mature stem and fruit of Okra are used while it has a major role in the formation of biogas, fuel and is a major component of sacks and ropes.
