The iPhone XR with 12MP rear camera and 7MP front sensor to have better low 'light performance. It has "Portrait" mode with a single-lens camera with sophisticated "bokeh" and "Depth Control" features. The "Depth Control" lets users adjust the depth of field both in real-time preview and post-capture. The iPhone XR is water resistant, with a rating of IP67, and protects against everyday spills including coffee, tea and soda.
Meanwhile, Apple is reportedly planning to launch two new iPhone SE models over the next two years. Apple has two new iPhone SE models planned for 2022 and 2023 respectively.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that The 2022 iPhone SE will reportedly launch in the first half of the year and feature 3GB memory, while the 2023 iPhone SE will feature more significant changes, including a larger display and 4GB memory, MacRumors reported.
Kuo's predictions broadly line up with the plethora of existing rumours around the next-generation iPhone SE models, the report said. Display analyst Ross Young previously said that Apple is working on a new 4.7-inch iPhone SE with 5G connectivity for launch in 2022, followed by a successor iPhone SE model with a 5.7-inch to 6.1-inch LCD display in 2024, as per the report.
The iPhone XR is currently selling at a price of ₹34,999 on Amazon for the base version. This price applies across all the colour variants, including the Product Red variant. Note that the new units of the iPhone XR do not come with a charging adapter; only the phone and the Lightning to USB-C cable.
However, you can avail the exchange offer to bring down the price further. Amazon is offering an exchange bonus of up to ₹14,900 if you give away your old device. Furthermore, if you make the transaction via Yes Bank or American Express Credit Card EMI, you can get an addition discount of ₹1500. This brings the price down to ₹18,599.
Obviously, the exchange offer depends on the choice and conditions of your older device. Moreover, Amazon isn't offering the full cashback amount even on the some fairly new iPhone models. For example, enquiring exchange rates for an iPhone 12 Pro Max, which is vastly superior to the iPhone XR, only returned a value of ₹10,900. Android phones returned much less.
Well, there can be too many factors to not consider the iPhone XR at this point in time. But the first time iPhone buyers can still vaguely consider the phone because of its low price and bigger screen size but have to let go of Apple’s latest technology.
In that respect, the iPhone SE could be a better deal but the iPhone 11 at Rs 54,900 would be the best deal if you don’t want to spend a fortune on the new iPhone 12. Not only a discounted price, but the iPhone 11 will also come with free AirPods but the offer is only available for a limited period of time.
However, if you are want to try out the iPhone XR, have a look at some of the key specifications and decide for yourself.
The iPhone XR is powered by an A12 Bionic chipset, which can be faster than some of the Android phones but in the Apple universe, this one is an outdated chipset. That is the area where the iPhone SE walks away with the credit because it houses an A13 Bionic chipset, which powers the iPhone 11 series. But iPhone SE is not as big as the iPhone 11 or even the iPhone XR. It features a 4.7-inch while the iPhone XR features a 6.1-inch display. So if the screen size is your concern, you can still consider the iPhone XR.
