Nothing Phone (1) is set to make its global debut on July 12. The company’s first smartphone will be available for purchase in India via Flipkart soon after the launch. Ahead of the official launch, the company has started teasing the key features of the phone. The USP of the Phone (1) is its design.
The transparent back panel has received some mixed opinions on the web. While images might not do justice, a hands-on video of the Nothing Phone (1) uploaded by YouTuber Marques Brownlee gives us a better look at the phone.
Other than the transparent back, the Nothing Phone (1) also features multiple notification strips. Nothing calls these strips the glyph interface, which consists of over 900 individual LEDs. According to MKBHD’s video, all strips light up to show notifications. In addition to this, the central C-shaped strip will light up to indicate wireless or reverse wireless charging. Complimenting this is another LED light strip at the bottom, which will glow to show the charging progress.
The video further reveals that all strips will work as a fill light for the camera and flash in time with the phone’s 10 built-in ringtones. The Phone (1) also has a red LED that flashes when it is recording a video.
Brownlee also revealed the front of the phone, which showcased a hole-punch display. The cutout is at the top left corner of the screen. Nothing Phone (1) also comes with fairly thin bezels around the display.
The company has also confirmed that the Phone 1 will come with a Snapdragon processor under the hood. It will have a dual-camera setup on the back and run Android 12 out of the box. The Phone 1 will have a layer of Nothing OS on top of Android.
There is also a caveat here. If you are looking for the Green colour option of the iPhone 13, you are out of luck. Almost no Authorised Reseller has the Green colour variant. That might be a deal-breaker for some buyers because that colour option looks appealing. And if you want just that colour and nothing else, there is a way, but you will have to give up all those offers.
The Apple online store is selling the iPhone 13 Green in India. So, while it is out of stock in other stores, you can find it on Apple’s own marketplace. But there are no discounts here. You just have the exchange programme running on the Apple Store and if you want to buy an iPhone in instalments, there are no-cost EMI offers, as well.
According to the website of Tech-next, if you trade in an iPhone 11, you will get Rs 21,000 as its exchange value. Over and above this value, the Tech-next will give you a bonus of Rs 3,000. That brings the total exchange value up to Rs 24,000 and brings down the effective cost of your iPhone 13 to Rs 41,900. That is the lowest price you can get for the iPhone 13 if you exchange the iPhone 11. Of course, trading in a more expensive model, such as an iPhone 11 Pro — which does not make quite a sense, will get you a better deal.
