Social media platform Facebook is now developing a Brain Computer Augmented Reality (AR) interface device. With the help of this device, users will be able to do head typing, not fingers. Brain activity reading will be converted to speech in real time.
Facebook announced the Brain Computer Interface (BCI) program at the F8 Developers Conference in 2017. A small device will be created with the help of this program. In this, users will be able to type very easily without thinking.
Facebook is hiring a research team at the University of California, San Francisco. This device is going to greatly benefit those who are unable to speak. It will be converted to speech in real time by reading brain activity. The UCSF team provided the information in a paper published in the journal Nature Communications.
Currently, this device is able to recognize only a few words and sentences. But soon researchers have informed that a large dictionary will be created focusing on translation. With the help of AR, we can connect with people all over the world. Also, without the phone or laptop, users can type and save important things with the help of iContact.
A few days ago, Facebook announced at its developer conference that the Messenger app is about to make changes that are better and faster than ever. Some features will also be dropped from the messenger platform.
