Next to Ayodhya temple.. New sea bridge connecting Dhanushkodi to Sri Lanka.. Central government project?

Significant details on the proposal to construct a sea bridge linking Dhanushkodi and Sri Lanka have emerged during the ongoing construction of the Ayodhya Ram Temple Kumbabhishekam.

In this regard, it has been claimed that the national government is pushing forward with plans to build a sea bridge that will link Sri Lanka and India's Dhanushkodi.  Rama gave Hanuman the command to lead his army to Sri Lanka from here Dhanushkodi.  The decision to build a bridge connecting Thalaimannar and Dhanushkodi was made by the central government.

The central government will shortly conduct a feasibility assessment for the construction of a 23-kilometer bridge, according to a well-known English news source.

India Sri Lanka Sea Bridge: In July of last year, President Ranil Wickremesinghe of Sri Lanka paid a visit to Delhi.  Subsequently, India and Sri Lanka decided to investigate the feasibility of enhancing Indians' access to the port areas of Trincomalee and Colombo.

A consultative conference was subsequently organized in this respect by the Union Ministry of External Affairs with other ministries and government bodies.  The Ministry of External Affairs intends to conduct a feasibility assessment before creating a comprehensive plan for the sea bridge.

What is the plan: "A number of matters pertaining to milk, oil, electricity, and shipping were discussed in Sri Lanka during Wickramasinghe's visit. Specifically, a thorough discussion was held over the maritime bridge that links the two nations. Unfortunately, this lengthy sea bridge will cost a lot of money.

Despite the project's high financial cost, both sides stand to gain greatly from it.  Additionally beneficial to bilateral trade will be this.  However, in order to determine if a bridge can be constructed at this location to link the two nations, the government must assess the technical, financial, and environmental factors," they claim.

Ten Years: There has been a call for a sea bridge to link the two nations for more than ten years.  Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister of Road Transport, had stated in December 2015 that a bridge for cars and trains was to be constructed to link the two nations.
