A few months after the renewal of Never Have I Ever season 3, and even before we can find out the exact date of the debut of the new episodes on Netflix, the announcement has arrived that the show will soon come to an end.
The series' creators, Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher, released a statement saying : " Hey Crickets, we've got some morning announcements for you: Never Have I Ever Season 3 is dropping this summer! Plus, we just got renewed for a fourth and final season, which we're absolutely stoked about. We can't wait to reveal all the exciting romance and hilarious adventures we have in store for you. Thank you to all of our fans for your support, especially you #Bevi and #Daxton fans. We love you!"
Never Have I Ever is a series loosely based on Kaling's upbringing as a first-generation Indian-American, starring Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Devi, a teenager whose father dies, making the worst years of high school worse.
What have we seen in 2 seasons of Never Have I Ever?
In Never Have I Ever season 3, the triangle between Devi, Paxton and Ben will probably continue. In fact, in the last episode the girl chose Paxton who in turn (finally) made their relationship official. In the final minutes, however, Eleanor talking to Ben confesses that Paxton has not always been Devi's choice, thus rekindling the boy's hopes. However, Ben has started a story with Aneesa so she too will be among the protagonists. Let's not forget that the boys will have to face the last year and the choice of college. They will therefore have to cope with more adult problems.
Cast of Never Have I Ever for upcoming season.
Returning cast members for season three include Purna Jagannathan as Devi's mother Nalini, Richard Morjani as Kamala's cousin Kamala, Jaylen Lewison as Ben, Darren Barnett, who played Paxton, and Lee Rodriguez and Ramona Young, who played Devi's friends Fabiola and Eleanor. Tennis player John McEnroe will also return as the show's commentator.
Will Devi finally evolve?
So far, the main character of the Netflix series has repeatedly shown himself to be a complex and difficult personality - not exactly unusual for a teenager who had to experience a terrible stroke of fate. However, in order for the series to move forward, Devi would have to undergo a change in season three. Although she has started to talk about her father (Sendhil Ramamurthy) in the current season, she has not yet worked through her trauma. So it would be time for her to confront her father's death and the problems that came with it.
How many episodes will be there in upcoming seasons?
Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, who plays Devi, posted that there will be a total of 40 episodes in the series, so it looks like the third and fourth seasons will have 10 episodes each, just like the first and second.
When will season 3 be released?
According to what was found by the international press, the filming of the 3rd season has already been completed and is now going through the post-production process. In this way, it remains to wait for the official announcement from Netflix about the premiere of the next episodes.
