NETFLIX has become a dominant Company in the on-demand media industry, with 209 million subscribers all around the globe. Netflix was founded in 1997 by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph in Scotts Valley, California. It provides original and analyzed content that its subscribers want. It has created compelled original program, analyzing its user's data to serve its subscribers better. Above it provides the freedom to its subscribers to consume content in the ways they prefer. It has created a vast market for itself but has also disrupted the television industry and forced cable companies to change how they do business. It has set up a new trend of online content consumption.

HULU  is an online streaming service owned by The Walt Disney Company and Comcast. Hulu has 42.8 million subscribers. Hulu offers a more extensive collection of current-season TV shows and a smaller selection of movies. Hulu offers some movies but is primarily known for TV shows, including related clips, trailers, and interviews. 

 

HULU VS NETFLIX: Availability and Device Support 

Hulu is available only in the US and in Japan. In contrast, Netflix is available in most parts of the world like - US, Canada, Mexico,  South America, the United Kingdom,  and most Western European countries. Netflix and Hulu are available on Android, iOS,  game consoles,  media streamers like Roku, Fire TV, computers, and certain smart TVs. Hulu is also available on Nintendo switch,  while Netflix is not.

 

Size and Content:-

 Hulu has not stated the size of its library, but it is estimated that it has more than 43,000 TV episodes from 1,650 shows and over 2,500 films, whereas Netflix has over 15000 titles. Hulu offers some international TV shows, and Netflix offers a variety of foreign movies and TV series.

Netflix is a better option for movie fans, and for TV shows, Hulu is a better option.

 

Plans and Pricing:-

Netflix offers three subscription plans: Basic, Standard, and Premium. The first plan costs $6.78 per month for unlimited movies and shows and allows streaming them in SD quality on one device at a time. The second plan costs $8.82 per month for total films and plays and allows streaming them in HD quality on two devices simultaneously. The third plan costs $10.86 per month for unlimited movies and shows and allows streaming them in 4K quality on as many as four devices simultaneously. There are no ads on Netflix; it also offers a DVD-by-mail subscription service with various monthly plans. 

 

Hulu offers four subscription plans:-

 The first plan costs $5.99/month and $59.99/year for thousands of hit shows, movies, and more streaming libraries but is supported by ads. The second plan costs $11.99/month for thousands of ad-free shows and movies.  The advantage of this plan is It didn't keep ads. Third plan Hulu + Live TV plans cost $64.99/month and Hulu(No Ads ) + Live TV for $70.99/month for live sports, breaking news,  awards shows, primetime dramas, daytime soaps, local teams, weather forecast and thousands of shows and movies Advantage of this plan is It didn't support ads.

 

How to choose between Netflix and Hulu:-

If you are a movie fan, then Netflix is a good option, but if you like TV shows, then Hulu is a better option.
