1. 'Beckett'
After his leading role in Tenet, John David Washington returns to the action-thriller game with Netflix’s Beckett. The crime drama follows Beckett (Washington) as he uncovers a massive political conspiracy while visiting Greece with his girlfriend (Alicia Vikander). When she goes missing, he sets off on a journey to locate her whereabouts and reach the U.S. Embassy to clear his own name. But as the authorities close in on him and unrest begins to break out across the country, Beckett’s truly in for a wild ride.
2. 'The Kissing Booth 3.'
The Kissing Booth 3 concludes the epic romance saga between Elle Evans (Joey King) and her best friend’s brother Noah Flynn (Jacob Elordi). Elle must make her college decision: does she want to go to UC Berkely with BFF Lee or head to Harvard with BF Noah? As she tries to conclude, both boys (and a handful of other factors) vie for her attention.
“Much like the other two films in the trilogy, The Kissing Booth 3 delivers a lackluster, overstuffed story that doesn’t care to give its leading lady any personality beyond the relationships with the men in her life,” writes Decider’s Jade Budowski.
3. 'Vivo'
Lin-Manuel Miranda strikes yet again with Vivo, an animated family film following a stunning Capuchin monkey. Miranda voices Vivo the monkey, as well as writing original songs for the movie. The film also marks Sony Picture Animation’s first-ever musical film, venturing into new locations never before seen in the animated world. In the film, Vivo sets off from Cuba to Miami to become the star of the stage. Along with Miranda, Vivo also stars Zoe Saldana, Brian Tyree Henry, Nicole Byer, and Michael Rooker.
4. 'Outer Banks'
Netflix’s new teen drama, Outer Banks, follows the Pogues, a group of friends in North Carolina who are trying to spend a carefree and fun summer together when they stumble upon a sunken ship and a hidden treasure. John B, the pack leader, is convinced his missing father is tied to the money and wreck after he finds a compass that belonged to him while diving around the sunken boat.
There’s plenty of romance, drama, and mystery involved in the series, which Decider’s John Serbia describes as “slick and smartly crafted.
5. 'All American.'
All American Season 3 just dropped on Netflix, and the new episodes have made the CW show even more popular. This series tells the story of Spencer James (played by Daniel Ezra) as he uproots his life from Crenshaw to Beverly Hills. But All American is much more than a surface-level fish out of water narrative—it adds high school drama, classically tense football dynamics, classically tense class dynamics, and a charming lead to the mix.
6. 'Grace and Frankie'
Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin return as Grace and Frankie with four surprise new episodes of the popular original series on Netflix. Season 7 of the hit comedy series will include 16 episodes, meaning there are still a dozen episodes on the way to Netflix in 2022. With Netflix’s final 16-episode-long season, the series will make history as the longest-running Netflix original series ever, topping all previous comedy and drama serials with a whopping 94 episodes. If anyone can do it, Grace and Frankie can! However, there’s still “plenty more to come,” Fonda teases.
7. 'Hit & Run'
Hit & Run is a thriller about a married man (Raz) devastated when his wife is killed by a hit-and-run driver in Tel Aviv. When the perpetrators escape to New York City, he gets help from an American ex-girlfriend (Lathan) to find out just what his wife was into. The unique casting of Israeli stars like Raz and Ashkenazi with American stars like Lathan and Henry should make for some interesting and tense drama.
8. 'UNTOLD: Malice at the Palace.'
Untold: Malice at the Palace follows the 2004 incident between players and fans at an NBA game in Michigan. The documentary interviews both sides of the issue, who discuss the fight, the fallout, and the lasting legacy it’s had on basketball.
“The thoughtful interviews—especially those with O’Neal and Jackson—form the backbone of a truly worthwhile documentary,” writes Decider’s Scott Hines. “Whether you want to relive the shock of November 19th, 2004, or want final closure on it, UNTOLD: Malice at the Palace is practically the final word on that shocking night.”
9. 'Cocomelon'
Cocomelon, a children’s YouTube channel, has made its way to Netflix. The full first season of the preschool programming is now available to stream, which means parents now have three-hour-long episodes to entertain their kids and teach them new skills. Cocomelon isn’t all fun and games — it also educates children on numbers, letters, and animals, using nursery rhymes and songs to teach each lesson.
10. 'Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings of Miami'
In this limited crime TV series, two childhood companions go from high school dropouts to Miami's most powerful drug kingpins. Cocaine Cowboys is a true story that tells a saga that spanned decades in Florida, all following best friends Willy Falcon and Sal Magluta in their rise to power.
“While we really disliked the pacing of the first episode of Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings Of Miami, the story of Willy Falcon and Sal Magluta is just getting started. It’ll be interesting to see how the two of them consistently beat prison time and how they finally were able to be put away,” writes Decider’s Joel Keller.
