Well friends, first of all I pay my gratitude to all those Mentally Retarded Children with whom I share a emotional story. Iam going to share my experience in dealing with the Mentally Retarded Childrens.
Few years ago with the Blessings of Almighty I was given a Portfolio of a Caretaker to these Special Category Childrens having Mental Retardation with Learning Disabilities.
The very first day i was put in this difficult examination to live with such type of HyperActive Childrens 24 Hours as a Care Taker(Pastoral Care). Initially i was scared to mingle with such type of Special Children having no Experience whatsoever, but with Divine Blessings I was treated with great Respect by this Special Children, since they came to know that they will be getting Timely Food & Refreshment as well as enough space to play with no strict criterion.Fortunately after getting due respect from this special children which i call them Divine's Child , I could easily approach them and even share a warm bonding with them.
One of the inmate with the name Sudeep used to repeat whatever i used to speak with him and it was very much difficult for me to make him understand my wordings, then after trial & error basis I got an idea to action plan based on practicality which he could make out and I could find easier to tackle such type of cases in my life time suppose if I come across such category person.
Another inmate with the name Manish used to enjoy hugging frequently , say 50 times in a day, which gives him warm feeling that somebody is behind him to support for his daily routine tasks.
One of the inmate with the name Sainath used to always tell and repeat that his Father will come to take him home and was not eating regularly or not mingling with his subordinates, and I used to make a Dummy phone call to him by becoming his father and managed to convince him, so that he eats regularly, study regularly and mingle with other inmates.
Another Inmates with the name Saipavan used to speak a lot without any specific reason and every now and then we used to have close ended question to make him stop.
All the above experiences with the inmates , whose I.Q.is between 50-60 whom can be trainable by appointing Special Teachers well versed in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy with more practical use of knowledge, otherwise below 50 IQ candidates are very difficult to handle since they are aggressive, violent,self hurting tendency and they tend to beat others which is unpredictable. So they require utmost care with the guidance of Neuro Psychiatric Doctor and an Emergency Plan to deal with such type of Hyper Active Childrens.
However, one Important aspect of life I have learned by dealing with this Special Children i.e. to have Infinite Patience to tackle the difficulties of life situation as and when arises.
