Meet Khushi - Rajasthan girl who wishes to become Malayalam teacher

Khushi and her mother Pooja Verma lives in a rented house. In spite of poor economic background and absence of father Mukesh Verma, who went missing, this girl has scored decent marks in SSLC exam, making her mother proud. Her family migrated to Kerala around 20 years ago. She and her six siblings were born and brought up here itself. Khushi's father Mukesh was a marble sector employee. Three years back he went to Rajasthan for treatment but didn't return. Now, Khushi's mother Pooja is the sole breadwinner and is engaged in tailoring. It is from the livelihood earned from tailoring that Pooja is managing studies of children and other expenses for the eight-member family. Social and civic organizations in the region too have been assisting her. Though further studies of Khushi is a cost incurring venture, Pooja keep fingers crossed that there will be some way ahead.
