A number of exact and regulated procedures are used in the production of 904L seamless stainless steel tubes in order to produce exceptional mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, and dimensional correctness. Super austenitic stainless steel alloy grade 904L, which has high concentrations of nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and copper, is renowned for its remarkable resistance to corrosion caused by chloride and strong reducing acids like sulfuric acid. To create the alloy, high-purity raw elements are first chosen and then fused together in an electric arc or induction furnace. The molten metal is cast into billets once the chemical composition satisfies the stringent 904L requirements. These billets are used as the raw material to make tubes.
The billets next go through hot extrusion or hot piercing, which involves heating them to a precise temperature and passing them through a piercing mill to create a hollow shell. Because of its seamless construction, the tube has consistent strength and longevity because there are no joints or welds. To obtain precise dimensions, surface finish, and mechanical qualities, the tubes are either cold drawn or cold rolled after extrusion. Additionally, this process maintains outstanding ductility while improving hardness and tensile strength.After a solution annealing process, usually between 1090°C and 1175°C, the tubes are rapidly quenched. Internal tensions created during cold working are eliminated and the alloy's resistance to corrosion is restored by this heat treatment.
