Manakula Vinayagar Temple
Located in Pondicherry. This temple dates back to before the French came to Pondicherry, i.e. before 1666. The name of the sand pool Ganesha is known as Manakkula Ganesha. It is one of the tourist attractions of Pondicherry. It is also one of the famous Ganesha temples. On the perimeter walls of the bridal Ganesha temple complex, there are various paintings of Ganesha and 27 star lords. This temple also serves as a slaughterhouse for Lord Murugan's sacrificial houses and many spectacular paintings.
Gold chariot and Mundasu Bharati
Another highlight of the temple is the magnificent gold and silver chariots built in the temple. And the whole of its tower is made of gold. It is noteworthy that Bharathi, a famous poet who stayed in Pondicherry for ten years from 1908 to 1918, sang 40 songs entitled 'Nanmanimalai' in praise of this Ganesha.
