Male Fertility: Studies show the best age to be a father

Age and  fertility of men

Men often think that  when giving birth to  a child, the body clock is important only to the mother giving birth, regardless of age. However, sperm count and quality decline with  age. Biologically, experts recommend that men in their late twenties and early thirties are best suited to be fathers. 4,444 men can have a child over the age of 50 as a father. According to the Guinness World Records, the oldest man to have a child was 92 years old on his date of  birth. Still, researchers have discovered that the age of a man can affect a couple's chances of becoming pregnant. Men over the age of 40  have a lower chance of success.

Male body clock

Men usually do not stop  sperm production, but that does not mean that they do not have a "biological clock" like women. As a man grows older, his sperm undergo a genetic mutation, increasing the likelihood that his sperm's DNA will be damaged. This can affect fertility and  potential health effects on  his future children. According to a study, fathers of "advanced father age" are more likely to give birth to children with neurodevelopmental disorders. A 2010 study found that offspring of men over the age of 40 were five times more likely to develop autism spectrum disorders than the general population.

At what age do men stop producing sperm?

Men usually do not stop sperm production, but  sperm quality declines with age. The World Health Organization has established semen parameters that serve as benchmarks for healthy sperm. These include number, morphology (shape), and motility (movement). From around the age of 35, men may notice deterioration of semen parameters.

Sperm wellbeing and richness

Sperm wellbeing can rely upon different variables which impact chances of fruitfulness. As far as amount, fruitfulness is undoubtedly on the off chance that the semen released in a solitary discharge contains no less than 15 million sperm for each milliliter. Too little sperm in a discharge could make it more hard to get pregnant. With regard to sperm motility, pregnancy is conceivable with under 40% of the sperm in discharge moving, with 40% being the edge since the more, the better possibilities of ripeness.

At what age are you too young to be a father?

According to a study published in the Journal of Epidemiology & Community Health, becoming a father before the age of 25 can have serious health consequences and can even lead to premature death in middle age. Studies have shown that men who become fathers early are in poorer health and more likely to die earlier than men who delay their fatherhood between the ages of 30 and  44. That said, if not well-prepared, there can be significant psychological and financial burdens associated with having children early in adulthood.

What  fertility tests do men have? If you and your partner have been unsuccessful for some time trying to get pregnant, you need to see a doctor. There are various tests to find out if a man is infertile.

Start with  an evaluation by a urologist. You need to have  a physical examination and the doctor will ask you about your medical history and lifestyle. The physical examination examines the testicles. Meanwhile, doctors look for varicocele, abnormal venous formation on the testicles.

You can also perform sperm and semen analysis. Experts check  sperm count,  shape, movement and other characteristics. You can also choose a hormone test. In this test, your doctor will assess your body's levels of testosterone and other hormones.

Other tests include genetic testing, anti-sperm antibodies, retrograde ejaculation, and more.
