Living With Christopher

Mark Hayden wrote a great book that became a bestseller and won the White Bread Book of the Year and White Bread Novel Awards.  It was said that Mark Hayden himself said, "Who on earth would want to read about a 15-year-old disabled boy?", While he was making this book.  Little did he know that it was the same 15-year-old disabled boy who made his book stand out, won awards and became a bestseller.  The title of the book is "Strange Dog Night and the Boy is Christopher."

Christopher is an autistic saint.  They can name all the countries of the world and their capitals.  He has a memory of photography and intelligence in mathematics and science.  Despite his extraordinary intelligence, he could not imagine, could not understand the statistics of speech and was related to jokes.  He didn't like places where there were a lot of people and people touched him.  People with autism have symptoms similar to those of people with autism and autism syndrome.  Autism is a disorder that is affecting more and more people.  This condition is mainly characterized by impairment of socialization, imagination and communication.  Sawant Syndrome usually has very little general intelligence in the fields of math, music, art and memorization but is characterized by abnormally narrow intelligence.

In the story, Christopher's parents are separated.  Her mother has decided to leave Christopher and her father, but she can no longer cope with the demands of having an autistic child.  Parents who cared for special children, such as people with autism, may have higher levels of stress than most parents.  The main reason for this may be that their children have special demands, unusual behaviors and different abilities compared to other children of the same age.  These children will have more difficulty communicating, as well, resulting in abnormal reactions.  An example of this is when an autistic child cries for no reason and starts beating himself up a lot.  Most likely, something is bothering him but he can't tell what it is because he doesn't know how.  Some autistic children with sensory integration problems may be either too sensitive or too sensitive to touch, pressure, movement and sound.  They will show some behaviors that are sometimes very difficult to understand, such as avoiding certain types of food, clicking or hitting, moving and screaming repeatedly.  Some of them may even show strict adherence to routines and fear of new places or people.  Meeting the needs of these children and dealing with their behavior cannot be easy and can lead to a lot of stress.

Autism is a disorder that is affecting more and more children.  They thrive on security and should avoid anything they see as a threat to their security.  However, many factors, circumstances and demands of society make them very insecure and forced to deal with them make them restless most of the time.  Unconsciously and unintentionally, children with autism experience constant anxiety about anything new or foreign to their understanding.  Just like in the book, when Christopher had to move out of the city he was familiar with, he would feel physically ill and scared.  Unlike most children, people with autism do not adapt easily to new environments or circumstances.  The process of learning to understand and accept things that were previously unknown to them results in high levels of anxiety.

Despite the fact that adapting and coping with autistic children may seem like a daunting task, much has already been read and published about proper management, which not only worries children but also puts pressure on their parents.  I will also be greatly reduced.  Some methods, such as cognitive change, behavior change techniques, and climate change techniques, have been shown to be effective in changing inappropriate attitudes and improving the learning skills of children with autism.  Some complications, other than autism, may require additional treatment as advised by doctors.  Autistic children who inadvertently fall into obsessive-compulsive disorder due to unintentional self-preservation behaviors may need much more treatment than previously mentioned.  ۔  In this case it is best to consult a psychiatrist and other medications may be prescribed.

Christopher's story ended with him being able to overcome all these challenges which caused him a lot of trouble and his mother decided to come back to take care of him.  Just as in this mythical novel, in real life the same can be said about dealing with stress and anxiety in families who need to deal with situations.  With proper management, medication or treatment, stress and anxiety in parents and autistic children can be effectively relieved.
