Living With Christopher

Mark Haddon wrote an amazing book  that became a bestseller and won both the Whit bread book of the year awards and the Whit bread novel. Mark Haddon himself exclaimed, "Who in the World would want to read about a crippled 15-year-old boy ?," in his book. Little did she know that it was the same 15-year-old disabled boy who made her book stand out, won awards and became a bestseller. The book is called, "the  amazing night dog time-time and the boy is Christopher." Christopher is an  outstanding entertainer. It can list all the countries of the world and their capitals. He has a photographic  memory and mathematical and scientific wisdom. Despite  his extraordinary intelligence, he cannot think, understand metaphors, and relate to humor. He also does  not like crowded places and people who touch him. People with autistic-savants exhibit  both common traits between those with autism and those with savant syndrome. Autism is one  of the major growth problems among the Autism Spectrum Disorders group. This condition is most  pronounced with impairments in social, mental and emotional well-being. Savant syndrome is characterized  by extremely low intelligence but a little less common genius in the field of mathematics, music, art and memorization. In the story, Christopher's  parents are separated. Her mother decided to leave Christopher and  his father because she could no longer cope with the demands of having a child with depression. Parents caring for  special children, such as those with autism, may have a higher rate of depression than most parents. This is because their children have  special needs, unusual behaviors and different abilities compared to other children of the same age. These children will  probably find it difficult to communicate, thus, triggering an unusual reaction. An example of this is when an autistic child cries for no reason and begins to beat themselves up. Something may have  made him angry, but he cannot express what it is because he does not know how. Some children with autism with neurological problems may have hypersensitive or hyposensitize touch, pressure, movement and noise. They will show certain behaviors  that are sometimes difficult to understand such as avoiding certain types of food and drink, biting or hitting, repetitive movements and screaming. Some of them may indicate strong adherence to certain  paths and fear of new places or people. Accepting the needs and dealing with these children's  behavior is not easy, and therefore, can cause great stress. Autism can  greatly reduce a child's world. They thrive on security, and anything  they see as a threat to their security should be avoided. However, many of the factors, circumstances, and needs of society make them insecure and forced to deal with this, making them  extremely anxious most of the time. Unknowingly  and unintentionally, children with autism have an ongoing feeling of anxiety about anything new or out of their control. As in the book, when Christopher had to  cross a familiar town, he felt sick and frightened. Unlike  many children, those with autism are not able to adapt easily to new environment or conditions. The process  of learning to understand and accept what they did not know before results in a high level of anxiety. Despite what appears to be a difficult task to adapt and deal with children with autism, much has been researched and published about proper management that will not only reduce children's anxiety but also their  parents' stress. Certain methods such  as Behavioral Behavior, Behavioral Behaviors and Behavioral Behaviors have been proven to be effective in reversing misbehavior and improving learning skills in children with autism. Others, who have complications  other than autism, may need additional treatment as advised by doctors. Autistic children who are also depressed due to unhappiness by being automatically locked in their defensive behavior may need  more treatment than previously mentioned. Consultation with  a psychiatrist is very good in this Situation, and may be prescribed other medications. Christopher's story  concludes that he was able to overcome the challenges that plagued him so much that his mother decided to return to take care of him. As in this fictional  novel, the same can be achieved in real life in terms of coping with stress and anxiety  among families who  need to cope with the situation. With proper treatment, medication or treatment, depression and anxiety  between parents and children  with autism can be effectively addressed.
