The title of my article is a quote from the legendary character "Galadriel," Lady of the Woods of Lothlorien, Queen of the Elf who had strong rings, about the author J.R.R. Tolkien wrote in a series of his novels entitled "The Lord of The Rings." In the film translated into the first book, Galadriel states, "Much of what was then is lost because no one alive now remembers it." That quote may have been a bad start in the actor's relationship with the audience watching (the film) and reading (the book), because he was still alive and part of it. Sauron, the anti-series (evil man) gave him one ring to use his power at a time "once".
People who live longer (and mythological characters) seem to be more valuable than the rest of us. They have more time to learn and apply lessons in life. They may see recurring patterns, which may lead to their gaining power, wealth, love, praise, and control over what one (or mythological character) would expect to gain in a normal life span. Read J.R.R. Tolkien’s books if you want to see how far it goes in describing the details the author will go to to explain the fictional relationships (between humans, witches, elves, dwarves, orks, etc.). Watch movies if you want to see how far the film director will go in presenting the murders as a way to win a profitable film.

Moses' task seemed simple, accepting God's approach to him, obeying what God told him to do, and doing it. That last segment required that he stand with thousands of Hebrews, explaining to them God's will for them, and leading them in that way. This was another difficult relationship that one had to reach. Consider the faith of Moses. Moses had stood before Pharaoh (King) of Egypt many times (as God had told him to do) and described God's wrath (a series of plagues) that would end when Pharaoh freed the Hebrew people from slavery.
Now imagine Moses leading thousands of families to the Red Sea as he learned that Pharaoh had sent his army to chase after the Hebrews, leading them in chariots (a way to crush Egypt's enemies)). This is the kind of situation that Generals often dream of, to attack an army of immovable obstacles (like the Red Sea). Moses did not know that God was going to shake the immovable; God parted the Red Sea, allowing Moses and the Hebrews to cross over to the other side of the sea.
Do you remember how long Moses lived? For about 40 years, Moses lived in the presence of God, who spent 40 years of his time being formed by the Hebrews to qualify to be called his (God's) people, and he did so through Moses. Moses wrote down his experience, just as God had told him to do. These are the first 5 books (of the Old Testament) in the Christian Bible. Web Search Genesis 1:26. Who is "us?" Clearly, it is God, but who are God talking about? Remember that you are reading quotations from God himself, which were passed on to Moses, who wrote them down (assuming this is our way of knowing something God wants us all to know).

The Lord of the Rings is a popular myth, but the real story of who we are, why we are here, and who really loves us is found in the Christian Bible. Much that has not been lost.
