Law of Karma

Our thoughts form our karma.

A king was sitting on an elephant visiting his kingdom. Suddenly he stopped in front of a shop and said to his minister - I do not know why, but I want to hang the owner of this shop. The Minister was very sad to hear this. But as long as he asked the king any reason, the king proceeded. The next day, the minister arrived at his shop in disguise of an ordinary citizen to meet the shopkeeper. He asked the shopkeeper just how his business was doing. The shopkeeper used to sell sandalwood. He was very sad that he barely got any customers. People come to his shop, smell the sandalwood and leave. They also appreciate the quality of sandalwood, but nothing to buy. Now his hope rests solely on this That the king should die soon.

Large quantities of sandalwood will be purchased for his funeral. He was the lone sandalwood shopkeeper nearby, so he was sure that his days would change when the king died. Now the minister understood why the king stayed in front of his shop and why he had expressed a desire to kill the shopkeeper. Perhaps the waves of negative thoughts of the shopkeeper had such an effect on the king, who in turn gave the same kind of negative and negative attitude towards the shopkeeper. Had experienced similar negative thoughts towards him.  The wise minister pondered this matter for a moment.

Then he expressed his desire to buy some sandalwood without mentioning his identity and the events of the previous day. The shopkeeper was very happy. He wrapped the sandalwood in paper and gave it to the minister. When the minister returned to the palace, he went straight to the palace where the king was sitting and reported that Chandan's wooden shopkeeper had sent him an offering. The king was surprised. When he opened the bundle, he was delighted to see the golden sandalwood in it and its aroma. Pleased, he sent some gold coins for the trader of sandalwood.

The king felt very sorry in his heart, thinking that he had an unwanted thought of killing the shopkeeper. When the shopkeeper received the gold coins from the king, he too was surprised. He began to sing the praises of the king who sent him gold coins and saved him from the curse of poverty. After some time he was reminded of his corrupt thoughts he used to think of the king. He regretted having such negative thoughts for his own personal interest. If we have good and kind thoughts towards other people, those positive thoughts will return to us in a favorable way. But if we nurture bad thoughts, those thoughts will return to us in the same way.
