Volvo XC40 Recharge Details
The all-electric Volvo XC40 Recharge was to be offered in India with deliveries by October 2021. However, the Swedish carmaker's plans to launch its first all-electric offering have been delayed and will now go on sale in the first quarter of 2022.
The electric SUV will arrive in India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). It comes with a dual-motor powertrain with a 150 kW electric motor on each axle that generates 402 bhp power and 660 Nm of peak torque. The electric motors are powered by a 78 kWh battery pack that offers a range of up to 418 km. It can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 4.9 seconds.
Tata Altroz EV Details
Tata Motors is betting big on electric vehicles in India. After introducing the Tigor EV, the domestic automaker will be adding the Altroz EV to its electric line-up next year.
The electric variant of the Altroz hatchback, first showcased at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, will be built on the all-new Agile Light Advanced (ALFA) platform. It will also plan the brand new Ziptron technology and we can expect it to have a range of over 250 km on a single charge.
Mini Cooper SE Details
Mini India is expected to launch its first fully electric car, the Cooper SE, in the coming weeks. The electric hatchback will come to India as a completely built unit.
The EV is listed on the India website with the tag coming soon. It is expected to use a single electric motor that generates 181 Bhp of power and 270 Nm of peak torque. The motor draws power from a 32.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The EV promises a range of 235-270 km (WLTP cycle) on a single charge.
BMW i4 Details
BMW India recently joined the EV race by launching its first all-electric SUV, the BMW iX. The carmaker is gearing up to expand its electric line-up by introducing the new i4. This is the electric version of the 4 Series Gran Coupe. The electric sedan was introduced earlier this year. It has been introduced in two variants - the eDrive40 and the sportier M50 sedan.
Mercedes-Benz EQS Details
Mercedes-Benz EQS made its global debut in April 2021. The company's flagship electric model has been listed on the official website.
It is expected to be launched in India by next year. This will be the luxury car maker's second all-electric model after the EQC electric SUV was introduced in 2020.
The electric sedan comes with a 107.8 kWh lithium-ion battery, which promises a 770 km WLTP cycle certified drive range. Using 110 kW DC fast charging, the EQS can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 35 minutes.
