Reliance Jio is gearing up to launch a new service that will offer wireless internet at home and office. The service, called Jio Air Fiber, was announced at the company's 45th AGM last year, but its availability and pricing details have been kept under wraps. However, a recent report by The Economic Times suggests that it might hit the market in the next few months. The report cites says, Reliance Industries Limited President Kiran Thomas, who expressed his confidence in the wireless internet service. He said that it will "accelerate the company's connected homes strategy".
During the 2022 AGM, Mukesh Ambani revealed that with Jio Air Fiber, users will be able to access wireless internet at fiber-like speed, enjoy various low-latency and high-bandwidth applications, parental control, Wi-Fi 6 support and more.

Once turned on, the Air Fiber will establish a personal Wi-Fi hotspot at the home, which will help users connect their devices to ultra-high-speed internet using True 5G.
The new Wi-Fi service is also said to bring tough competition to other broadband players such as Airtel, BSNL, and ACT. Jio Air Fiber is based on Jio's true-5G technology, which is built on SA (standalone) technology. This means that it does not rely on existing 4G infrastructure, unlike Bharti Airtel's NSA (non-standalone) technology. Jio says that this gives it an edge over its competitors in terms of speed and reliability.
