Is time travel possible ?

He theorized that if a person fell into a black hole and then left it in the past or future, then he or she might be able to travel back and forth between the points in time where the black hole fell in and out. A variation on this theory is the idea that we might be able to manipulate cosmic strings. These are theoretical objects that may exist in the universe, but scientists haven’t yet observed them. But if they were real, it would be possible for a person to travel down them and emerge at another point in time. Hawking suggested that the chronon would interact with matter and gravity, causing it to change. He proposed that if you sent a chronon into the past and then changed its course, you could cause it to loop back on itself. This way, we might be able to send information back in time—but no one has been able to confirm Hawking’s theoretical particle yet.
Another argument for time travel is based on the expansion of the universe. The world looks bigger than it did in the past because light can take longer paths in space-time as it travels from one place to another. Some physicists have proposed that time travel could be possible if you built a vehicle that could travel faster than light. It would be able to move backwards and forwards through space-time because the universe would seem bigger to the people inside the vehicle, so they wouldn’t think they were ever going the wrong way.

Why might we want to build a time machine?
One question scientists still haven’t answered is why we would want to deliberately travel back in time.
