Has the torch been passed to Kawhi Leonard?

Every generation has its icon. For me my grandad had Jordan, my father had Kobe and I have LeBron James but is our king still the face of NBA? It doesn't seem like it.

Jordan,Kobe and LeBron became the face of the NBA due to their amazing style of play which could turn any mediocre team into a championship contender. 

MJ did it with the Bulls.

Kobe did it with the Lakers.

LeBron did it with the Cavaliers.

Kawhi did it with the Raptors and now it looks like he's doing it with the LA Clippers as well.

Its safe to say the clippers are getting the same hype that the cavaliers did when LeBron returned from Miami, making Cleveland automatically a playoff team and Kawhi's arrival has ignited the same sparks.

Kawhi gave the raptors their first ever NBA championship upon his arrival which has completely ruined DeMar Derozan's legacy after being the face of the team for almost 10 years. It took just one season for Kawhi compared to Derozan's failed ten.

This type of hype of being able to change a team into being a championship contender is what made LeBron the face of the NBA and because of the fact that LBJ hasn't been able to turnaround the Lakers team last season it looks like the NBA has a new face and his name is 'The Claw' Kawhi Leonard.

Kawhi is at the moment averaging almost 30PPG making him the odds on favorite to win this season's MVP. 

But let's not put LeBron James out of the equation just yet. LeBron seems to have changed gears after the arrival of Anthony Davis and they are making LA a busy city. Both the LA teams are gunning hard for the championship this season and it's safe to say this season's winner could prove if the torch has indeed been passed to a greater player. 

Will LeBron continue to dominate the league until his retirement or will he pass on the torch to Kawhi Leonard?
