In the mid of the pandemic, colleges across the country are opening. The governments of different states are opening colleges and schools. For instance, Uttar Pradesh is reopening the colleges and schools from 1st September. As many states had already opened schools and colleges, students from Delhi University also want to go to college. Due to which there is a lot of pressure on the Delhi government to follow the protocols and let colleges open. But, this whole picture of reopening is incomplete until the disaster management around the nation tells the authority that it would not risk the lives of students because the pandemic isn't over.
Schools in the national capital have partially reopened for Classes 10 and 12 students. In Delhi, the students of Class 10 and Class 12 can go to school for admission-related work, as per the orders issued by the Delhi government. Students have been allowed to attend school for counseling/guidance and practical activities for board exams.
Every day students across the country write to Deputy Chief Minister (Manish Sisodia) about reopening and saying that their future is in darkness. They should do something and make some protocols such that things can go to normal.
Regarding the new academic session, UGC had decided to start the session on the 1st of October. DU, on the other hand, started the portal for the registration of new students. Almost 2.1 lakh students have registered till now, and the number will increase to 4 lakhs approximately, which will lead to tough competition between the candidates.
General category students will have many issues because of high cutoffs, and getting admission into a dream college could be difficult. It is comparatively easy for students from reserved categories. Chances are increasing that the required amount of marks will increase by two percent.
Delhi University Cut-off is released online for several rounds of admissions. DU cut-off is based on the marks secured by students in the best of four subjects of the qualifying examination. The University of Delhi cut-off is the minimum marks the candidates must have obtained to take admission in the desired course. The university releases cutoff in multiple rounds, and after every round, students are given 3-4 days to take admission. However, Delhi University doesn’t release any cut-off for the courses directly offered, as the cut-off belongs to all the participating colleges affiliated with it. DU cut-off is released by the affiliated colleges on their websites first. Then a consolidated list is prepared for Arts, Science, and Commerce streams and released on the university’s official website.
On can do the maths by themselves and can make the application. The cost of the application for general students is 250 rupees, and for scheduled castes, it is free.
The first cutoff list will be released in the first week of October and the last till the 18th of October.

- Best of four subjects: The best of four is the average of the highest marks secured by the candidates in any of the four subjects.
- Programs: The officials also consider the undergraduate courses for which candidates have applied.
- Several seats: The total number of seats adds to the cutoff prepared for admission to the university.
- The number of test-takers: The total number of candidates who have appeared for the test is also taken into account for the preparation of the cutoff.
