For the longest time, resetting and erasing a fixed iPhone required a Macintosh or Windows laptop computer. Users would need to put the device in DFF recovery mode and connect it to a laptop with a cable. The tactic is somewhat extended and not as easy as mill resetting an iPhone once you apprehend its secret. As luck would have it, for all people, iOS 15.2 changes that. Users can currently erase a fixed iPhone severally, ditching the need to possess a laptop computer around.

9to5Mac has reported that the most recent iOS fifteen.2 build permits users to erase their fixed iPhones severally. The PC code update was liberal to the final public earlier on. All users running it will be able to benefit from the new feature. Once the iPhone is in security resistance mode, a different iPhone erase button will appear next to the emergency one. Clicking the previous button will prompt you to enter your Apple ID secret before it pay off to erase itself.
If your device isn’t connected to a native space network or a mobile data organization, the tactic will fail. That’s as a result of the iPhone’s being unable to communicate with Apple servers. This may require you to use the conventional laptop computer technique to erase it. Otherwise, an internet-connected iPhone will begin the resetting technique once you create a positive Apple ID word. Once the tactic ends, the device will come back to its out-of-box state.
This change allows people who do not own Macs or PCs to use their iPhones or iPads more than once. Apple continues to push the latter as a laptop computer replacement, and so the flexibility to erase it simply in the case of a forgotten word brings it a step nearer towards achieving that goal. The company is currently testing a version of Swift Playgrounds that will allow developers to make and publish their apps to the App Store while not having a waterproof case.
