Colonel Harland
Colonel Harland Sanders sacrificed his own blood, sweat, and tears in order to launch KFC. He was just 9 years old when he first became interested in cuisine. He was born in 1890. He was a man who valued guts, hard work, and self-reliance; after his father passed away, he dropped out of school in the sixth grade to support his mother, brother, and sister.
When the Colonel made the decision to franchise his renowned Kentucky Fried Chicken recipe blend of 11 herbs and spices to the rest of America in 1952, he quickly rose to fame. Currently, there are more than 18,000 KFC locations spread across 115 nations and territories.

- 1890
On September 9, Colonel Harland D. Sanders was born.
- 1906
Being self-reliant as the Colonel was, he lied about his age to join the army at the age of 16. He began working as a blacksmith the following year and later transitioned to firefighting. From there, the range of occupations he had simply grown and amazed us more.
- 1920S - 1930S
The Colonel had a somewhat interesting background. In addition to being an obstetrician and a lawyer, he also founded a ferryboat firm and served as secretary for the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. He also sold insurance, lighting, and tires. In the 1970s, The Colonel's secret recipe made it to Malaysia.

The Colonel added fried chicken to the menu at his service station, where he prepared meals for hungry travelers.
Governor Ruby buffoon gave honorary Kentucky Colonel status to Harland Sanders because of his love of fried chicken. That's how he earned the title "Colonel"!
- 1939
The Colonel's secret blend of 11 herbs and spices, along with pressure-cooking to lock in the finger-licking sweetness, helped him develop his Original Recipe of chicken.
- 1950
After retiring at age 65, Colonel Sanders dedicated himself to expanding his chicken restaurant chain by driving from location to location across the United States and Canada. He had more than 600 KFC locations in only the United States and Canada less than ten years later!
- 1965
At age 75, the Colonel—who never retired—started a new chapter in his life. He exchanged his stock in the business for $2 million, which is equal to $14,161,464 in today's dollars. KFC kept expanding internationally.
The Colonel, on the other hand, is the face of KFC and will never be forgotten.

The second most recognized celebrity in the world, The Colonel was a figurehead in his own right.
- 1980
He was given an acute leukemia diagnosis in June, yet he continued to perform in front of large crowds while donning his trademark white wool suit and string tie up until a month before his passing. At the age of 90, the Colonel passed away from pneumonia in Louisville, Kentucky, on December 16.
