In the last trailer for  "Avatar: The Way of Water", Sully explores new underwater realms.

The last push of "Avatar: The Way of Water"'s pre-release marketing and promotion starts at this point. Along with the announcement of the international premiere dates, tickets for all major theater chains in North America went on sale. Additionally, Walt Disney released the third and final trailer for the 3-D epic as promised.

This preview provides a flood of gorgeous Pandora-specific visuals as well as implicit promises that it will not be a rehash of the 2009 mega-hit, either visually or narratively. The second preview, which was released weeks ago to coincide with the theatrical release of "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," arguably sealed the deal in terms of persuading those who were at least casually interested in booking a return trip to Pandora. This trailer is aimed at regular moviegoers, or more specifically, the type of irregular moviegoer who may be unaware, or needs to be reminded, that a new "Avatar" sequel is coming to theaters.

The two-minute preview debuts ahead of the Avatar sequel's December 16 launch next month, 13 years after the original chapter was released in 2009.

The Sully family, including Jake, Neytiri, and their children, are seen traversing new underwater planets while new Pandora residents face robot armies and dangerous aquatic animals in the video.

A new poster for the IMAX 3D experience has been published only weeks before the film's highly anticipated debut, offering a new peek inside a re-awakened Pandora. A fiercely confident Jake sits on top of a banshee as it glides over the lake in the photograph. As he looks forward, Jake has an intimidatingly furious expression on his face, as if he is ready for combat. Meanwhile, Neytiri can be seen following Jake from the amber-colored skies above. The poster is another step forward in Cameron's brilliant work, with visuals that exude refinement.

Avatar 2 is expected to stretch for more than three hours, providing fans with much to look at. If the sequel lives up to expectations, Cameron has a series of sequels planned for release between December 2024 and 2028. The project is already shaping up to be epic in scope, with an A-list cast on hand to assure success. Sigourney Weaver, Kate Winslet, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, and Joel David Moore will also make cameos, in addition to hero actors Worthington and Saldana.

The latest teaser doesn't disclose much more about the narrative, but it does give us a decent look at Sam Worthington's Jake Sully, a former human who abandoned his body to become one of the original blockbuster's Na'vi blue aliens.

Given the popularity of its critically acclaimed predecessor, it is safe to assume that Avatar: The Way of Water is the subject of rising expectations. Its record-breaking legacy includes a $2.8 billion worldwide box office hit that elevated it to the title of the all-time highest-grossing movie. This figure has now exceeded a remarkable $2.9 billion at the lifetime box office, the first ever film to achieve so, following a dazzling 4K re-release of the picture.
