Hypertension

Hypertension, which is currently a common disease in our society, is often not realized because it has no specific symptoms. Even if it is not treated properly, hypertension has a great risk of dying from cardiovascular complications such as stroke, heart disease, or kidney failure. Hypertension or better known as high blood pressure is a condition where a person's blood pressure is above the normal or optimal limit of 120 mmHg for systolic and 80 mmHg for diastolic. Systolic is blood pressure when the heart pumps blood into the arteries (when the heart contracts). Diastolic blood pressure is when the heart expands or relaxes. Patients who have at least three blood pressure readings that exceed 140/90 mmHg at rest are thought to have high blood pressure.

Hypertension is defined as an increase in systemic arterial blood which occurs continuously. Although this concept is clear, blood pressure that causes hypertension is randomly determined based on the pressure associated with the statistical risk of developing hypertension-related diseases. A person's blood pressure can be classified based on average measurement of two measurements as follows: A person is considered normal if his systolic blood pressure is 120 mmHg and his diastolic blood pressure is 80 mmHg. Prehypertension is considered if a person's systolic blood pressure is 120-139 mmHg or his diastolic blood pressure is 80-89 mmHg. Stage I hypertension, if someone's systolic blood pressure is 140-159 or his diastolic blood pressure is 90-99. Stage II hypertension, if someone's systolic blood pressure is 160 mmHg and his diastolic blood pressure is 100. Based on the cause, hypertension can be divided into Primary or essential hypertension. The cause of hypertension is still not known with certainty the cause. But usually caused by factors that are interrelated.

Primary hypertension has a population of approximately 90% of all hypertensive patients. Secondary hypertension is hypertension caused by other diseases such as kidney damage, diabetes, vascular damage, and others. About 10% of hypertensive patients are classified as secondary hypertension. The relative risk of hypertension depends on the amount and severity of risk factors that can be avoided and factors that cannot be avoided. Factors that cannot be avoided include genetics, age, gender, and ethnicity. While the factors avoided include stress, obesity, and nutrition.
