What is Russia's explanation for the attack on Ukraine?

Alexander Mantitsky: The current government came to power in Kiev in 2014 through an unconstitutional coup. Many people have been oppressed and massacred by them for eight years. The main goal of this campaign is to save the people from their oppression. Since then, one of the goals of the ongoing campaign is to bring the puppet government and government officials to justice for the persecution of the country's civilians, including the Russian-speaking ones, to demilitarize Ukraine and liberate the country from Nazism.

I have called on the Kiev authorities to hold direct talks with Donetsk and Luhansk on the implementation of the Minsk Agreement and to end the conflict in Donbass in a peaceful, political and diplomatic manner and to stop disciplinary action against its own people for eight years. Unfortunately, the Kiev authorities have backed away from Western commitments to the Minsk agreement. The government is now trying to impose its responsibility on the country.

One thing I would like to emphasize here is that the Russian armed forces did not carry out any attack on the cities with missiles, fighter jets or artillery shells during the special operation conducted in Ukraine. Attacks have been carried out mainly on military installations, air defenses, military airfields and air forces.

Could Preclusion Russia by different gatherings, including the US and the European Association (EU), worsen the emergency as opposed to taking care of the issue?

Alexander Mantitsky:The EU and the United States have not made an objective assessment of what has actually happened in Ukraine and their role in the country as a whole, and in particular in Donetsk and Luhansk. Instead, they mistakenly resorted to sanctions, thinking they would take effective action.

It should be noted that the monopoly power of the West over international law or as the main driving force in international affairs has come to an end. Article VIII of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) states that neither the EU nor NATO has a special role to play in maintaining peace and stability in the 57-nation alliance. Again, no part of the alliance can think like that in the sphere of influence of those two organizations. No one has given the EU the responsibility to resolve the crisis of war and peace in Europe. Only the UN Security Council has special international legal rights.

However, the EU and the United States have pursued a policy of rescuing the extremist nationalist government of Ukraine, which is responsible for the destruction of their own country and instability in Europe. They have given Ukraine armaments, sent their own defense advisers there, and conducted extensive military exercises. They have used the territory of Ukraine militarily for special purposes.

These hostile actions by the United States and the EU against Russia and Russia's friendly Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) will not hinder our positive progress and the flow of their assistance. Following the policy of reciprocity, we will also take strict action against them.

Is Russia planning to retaliate against the West in the interests of its own economy?

Alexander Mantitsky:Citizens and organizations from the United States and EU member states are providing much-needed assistance to Ukraine's armed forces, including weapons and fuel. They must be held accountable for the consequences of the ongoing special military operation in Ukraine.

Officials in Brussels have publicly voiced Russia's plans for maximum damage. They are trying to strike a blow at the weakest point, considering that Russia's economy and economic progress are being hampered.

We are sure that their efforts will not work. We will respond strongly to the actions of the United States and the EU. Russia will continue to pursue its national interests despite sanctions or the threat of sanctions. Western nations should realize that their monopoly power in the world economy is long gone.

The United States, Germany and other Western countries are providing the necessary weapons. Will it make the crisis more complicated?

Alexander Mantitsky:We see NATO's statement on Ukraine's readiness to supply new weapons as a continuation of its irresponsible policy of escalating military tensions in the country. First, these measures are the exact opposite of the call for peace in those countries. Second, the weapons that will be provided to the authorities in Kiev will be used against representatives of the Russian military and civilians, which will ultimately create an undesirable risk. Moscow believes it is important to avoid situations and events that would create the context for NATO's direct confrontation with Russia.

Russia vetoes Security Council resolution Russia does not want any role of the United Nations in resolving the crisis?

Alexander Mantitsky:Russia has vetoed the Security Council, citing its failure to fulfill its primary responsibility for maintaining international peace and security. The draft did not reflect the minimum effort to resolve the crisis through the Security Council. For the same reason, two days ago we voted against another draft.

In the aftermath of the war, the United Nations and the Security Council were formed to avoid a new world war. To achieve this, the world's most powerful parties voted in favor of compromise. While agreeing to an ideologically unanimous decision, if for some reason everyone failed to agree, they never imposed their decision on each other or ignored the interests of the permanent members. For that, the permanent members of the Security Council have been given the power to veto. But this is not an opportunity. This was done in the interest of maintaining balance, which is very important for maintaining the stability of the world. Disrespecting and disregarding Russia's position is against the UN Charter.

Is the way to solve the problem still open through discussion?

Alexander Mantitsky:We did not close the door on negotiations. We are still ready to sit at the negotiating table and talk to ourselves and listen to others. But there must be mutual respect in this discussion. Unfortunately, this is not the case. For example, the Western alliance sees the attempt to negotiate the security of its own country and the defense capabilities of our own region as aggressive behavior.

In conclusion, Russia did not start the war. But Russia is trying to end the war. This war started in 2014. But the western countries have been trying to ignore it all the time.
