1. Practice Mindfulness

Mindfulness can be a powerful antidote to negative thoughts. Negative thoughts gain strength through the feelings we are bound to. Practicing meditation regularly creates greater mental flexibility, strengthens your ability to control your emotions, and enhances your ability to distinguish your thoughts and emotions. - Jamie Lewis Smith, Pixel Leadership Group, LLC

2. Accept Thoughts As Normally And Be Aware

People are connected to negativity. Knowing, accepting and recognizing that negative thinking patterns are common step no. 1. Then, remember that this is the only thing-thoughts; you give them power when you make them unthinkable. That step No. 2. Then, step no. 3 is a matter of deciding what action to take or not to take. This begins the process of creating new neural networks of new behavior. - Yvette Costa, Velocity Advisory Group

3. Recognize and Say the Negative Thinking Pattern

I have seen many people become successful with patterns of negative thoughts by creating and approving a pattern. It’s like catching your mental speech in action, and just by being careful, you remove some of that negative energy. To get more energy, once it has been noticed, make a deliberate decision to quit. - Billy Williams, Archegos

4. Get Into Your Body

An easy step to check with your body. How do you feel when you have negative thoughts? I often share research that shows that when you engage in evil for 20 minutes in a row, you destroy the brain cells responsible for thinking and memory. Changing the focus on the body and the breath creates a separation so that one can get a sense of choice about which thoughts to enjoy. - Lisa Marie Platske, Negative Thinking, Inc.

5. Overcome Negative Thoughts

To rid yourself of negative thinking, you need to let go of resentment. For example, I often hear job seekers saying, “I only get letters of resignation when I apply for a job.” In this case, look for the good. What I see is the opportunity to rewrite the CV, better prepare for interviews, create a new social media profile, identify better jobs and design a job management app. - Diane Hudson, Career Marketing Techniques, LLC

6. Use Your Skills And Focus Again

Success always comes from activating one's skills. The separation model can have a very positive effect. By searching for and discovering unusual situations, even if the improvements encountered are considered small, the opportunity to deal with more options than ever before and to redefine problems immediately emerges. The ability to emerge to re-focus. - Cristian Hofmann, Managing Authority | SUPERGROUP LTD

7. Use Your Feelings as a Compass

Thinking patterns can only be adjusted with a continuous and conscious desire to make a change. Another step is to use your emotions as a compass, for each time you respond, you tell something else — not with the motive, but with your emotions. Exercises like yoga, Pilates or journal writing are all ways to move on to a calm mind to increase self-awareness. - Able Wanamakok, Get Your Voice Asia

8. Use RAIN Method

The RAIN method is my favorite practice of helping leaders break down patterns of negative thinking: Beware of bad thoughts when they arise; Accept it (do not judge!); Investigate (where does this come from in my story, and why?); and finally Don't associate with it (push the wrong thinking pattern and decide it doesn't help you now). - Shefali Raina, Alpha Lane Partners

9. Practice Meditation and Self-Examination

Practicing regular meditation and self-examination can help you to break free from negative thoughts. However, no one can expect and challenge everything they will face, so it is also important that you surround yourself with a personal advisory board of trustworthy people who will help you illuminate your blind spots and be willing to challenge you and your thinking. - Jonathan H. Westover, Utah Valley University & Human Capital Innovations, LLC

10. Take the 'Yeti Challenge'

In helping our customers move from an unchanging mindset to a growth concept, we have created what we call the “Tea Challenge.” For example, we start with a bad thought like: "I'm too old to change." To change the negative, we have someone add “but me” to the statement, followed by what he can do to change that idea. For example, "I am too old to change ... but I will enroll in an online class to learn a new skill." - Ira Wolfe, Successful Work Solutions
