India is to host the ICC Cricket World Cup in October-November next year, but 11 months before that a crisis is looming over the BCCI that it may lose the hosting rights of the tournament. The Board of Control for Cricket in India ie BCCI is to host the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India in October-November next year.
The year 2023 is about to come and the ODI World Cup is to be held at the end of this year. This World Cup is to be held in India, but something has happened which threatens India's hosting. The International Cricket Council and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are at loggerheads over the tax dispute, and this dispute between the two can snatch away the hosting of the World Cup from India.
According to media reports, the ICC has bluntly asked the BCCI to arrange tax exemption from the Government of India for organizing the ODI World Cup 2023. However, this is difficult to happen because the Government of India does not give such relaxation in any kind of event.
In the year 2016, when India hosted the T20 World Cup, even then this dispute came between ICC and BCCI. At that time the BCCI could not get this exemption from the Government of India and in the end it had to pay Rs 190 crores of its share to the ICC.
It has been claimed in the reports that BCCI is not ready for this, in such a situation, if such a situation arises then BCCI can go to court against ICC. Apart from this, if the tax issue is not resolved and ICC does not get its share, then it can also consider changing the host. In such a situation, BCCI will try to solve this issue soon.
this is the policy
BCCI has not yet given any official response on this matter. in between

BCCI-ICC Tax Row: ICC may shift next year's ODI World Cup-2023 out of India. If the BCCI is unable to persuade the Government of India for tax exemption for the ICC World Cup 2023, then the board may incur a loss of Rs 900 crore.
News18 has given a report quoting sources, in which it has been said that the BCCI has not done anything regarding the tax issue. It has been said in the report, 'This is BCCI's money. If the ICC does not resolve this issue before the World Cup arrives and deducts it from India's revenue share from the ICC, it will still end up in a legal battle. As per ICC's policy, only the host country has to get tax exemption from their respective governments. According to the report, till now the BCCI has not made any effort to persuade the central government.
