You have to understand here that you are working with a resource that is equal for everyone, 24 hours, right? It is a resource that is equal to everybody right now.
So, can we agree on one thing You cannot complain about the lack of resources or discrimination in the division of resources? You cannot say that I got 22 and he got 26. We agree that the resources the same. Right? This leads us to the next point; Now, the whole conversation is not about resource availability.
The whole conversation will become about the division of resources. So, the whole conversation is not now about whether I have the resource or not; It's about the proper utilization of the resource, which is largely down to you. I think the no.1 tool I will suggest for you to use is " Prioritization." Prioritization, which means for you to figure out, What is most beneficial for me? You put it priority No.1. I find self-study most beneficial, and without it, my study is incomplete, then give it priority No.1, and then other things follow after that. I understand the subject easily by going to particular tuition and listening to a particular teacher without which I am unable to understand the subject then, for me that tuition is priority No.1 Ok? and, the third scenario will be, for school, you know for me, the extracurricular activities, or the sports or other things or my friends that I have in the school they are the most important, without which I feel depressed then, that is priority No.1 You cannot expect somebody else to give you these priorities because,
A. Your learning style is different
B. What you are gaining from every resource is different.
So, you have to determine. For me, for example, When I was in grade 12th, What I did was, for all my science subjects, I took a cassette recorder, and during the revision part of it, I recorded everything. I recorded everything on audio So that I would be able to listen to it frequently. That worked for me. I am an auditory person. You know, people can be operating in two or three different categories. Some people learn better visually; Some people learn better through hearing, Some people see flip charts; some see the presenter. So, whatever is working best for you, you have to understand your strengths and weaknesses and then organize your day around them.
For some people, self-study is the most important thing, that without it, my day is incomplete, and I was unable to study. So, if that is the case for you, you put that first and then find ways to reduce time. So, it is not a game of time management. Because we manage those resources which are different for everybody. Here, the game is about resource allocation Resources are limited, and the resources are the same. Now how do I allocate them? How do I do that? That is based on my priorities, what works the best for me. If tuition works best for me, then tuition is priority No.1, If self-study works best, that is No.1 I know it is difficult, what you are going through, what every single person is going through, the exam stress, these two are loads of expectations, there is so much that is expected from you.
There is very little time, and the spirit wants to do so many other things. You want to go out and have fun, you want to do so many other things, you want to be on social media, you want to watch that video, you want to watch the new movie, you want to watch Gully boy, and all the other movies that are coming in. You want to do the things that normal human beings would like to do. But there is a straightforward law of life; it is called paying the price. What is the law? The Law of paying the price means you only get the thing when you pay the price for it. If you don't pay the price, you are not going to get it. Very simple! If you will pay the price during these two or three years, now I paid the price for this session here today.
I spent my time, my energy, my creativity, my resources, my intellect, everything, to make sure that I give you a good interaction; nothing is left from my side. The same you do for your exams also. When you enter the examination hall, there is one question that you should be able to answer confidently, that is, is there anything left incomplete from my side? As much as possible! Even if something is left, drop it there only; you cannot do anything now. Now I enter the hall with a free mind, and I do my best. I have to understand that there are so many expectations from me that I may not be able to fulfill them all, but I will do my best anyway, But the fundamental question you got to ask is, right now is the time, am I using it well? Do I see any gaps anywhere? And if yes, how can I overcome that?
So, it is a process of self-introspection. During the exam time, don't be so caught up with all the pressures that you cannot get the time to reflect on yourself to know whether your strategy is right or wrong. Along with hard work, strategy is also essential. I will share a secret with you while on camera. I studied French for three years. I did a hotel management course, a Ministry of Tourism course, in which it was mandatory to study french. So, we had a wonderful French teacher coming from Delhi, Madam Mrs. Komal Sharma, and Mrs. Mohan Sharma. If you are watching this video, I apologize for being a very naughty kid in your class and not listening to you properly. And that is the reason why to date; I don't speak french. So, that was an opportunity missed. But I was able to pass the french examination; I did not fail. I did not fail the french exam; I passed it. You know how? Strategy! Strategy, that too told by seniors. Take the last five-six years examination papers, do this, study this way, do that, and I was able to pass that examination. So, I am not suggesting you do that that is not the suggestion, what I am suggesting is, Have a strategy as well as hard work, because it is an exam and sees, the exam is not going to measure your self worth, examinations do not know your dreams or your potential. It is a limited system. Here are the ten questions. Can you answer them or not? Many of your things are based upon this thing. Agree or disagree?
It's dependent on that. So, to overcome that hurdle or go through that challenge, I need to have a strategy. If you play cricket, you have a strategy. Sportspeople, where are you? Before you start a game, you have a strategy. Who will be the opener, who will be the fielder, who will be the wicketkeeper, and how will I divide all those things? So, strategy is going to be the same way as the distribution of your time. Am I spending too much time commuting every day from one place to another? You must be! Right? You are? Yes or no? Are you spending a lot of time commuting?
How do you spend your commuting time? Do you have to ride your own vehicle, or somebody else takes you? Somebody takes you, then, what are you doing in the car, during that time? Nothing. So, that's an opportunity. How can I use that opportunity? Straightforward trick! Take your subject which you find difficult Layout their important points. What are their fundamentals? Like, I was teaching my daughter the other day; she was struggling with mathematics. I was teaching her straightforward rules, Like anything multiplied by 0 is 0, and if you have to plus 1, if I would say, 7 plus 1 is what? She would go, 1..2. I said, okay, if you have to plus 1 to anything, you have to go to the next number. These straightforward tricks I taught her. These are called the founding principles of any subject; every subject has that. If you take them down and record them in your own voice and put them in your headphones, you can use them when you are going to and fro. Or you have your condensed notes or something; Recall is very important; please remember this. In your effort to score well or to grasp any subject, your ability to learn and your ability to revise and recall because you will forget a lot of information very quickly. I use a lot of quotations; I quote a lot of speakers in my speeches

How have I been able to do that over the last ten years? I like a quote, I write it down on a small piece of paper, and it stays with me. I have ten thousand of them in a big bag. Whenever I get time, I flip through them. I am on a long flight; I flip through them. I take them on a digital medium; I flip through them. The ability for the mind to revise once again will go into reinforced learning. That will be a powerful medium through which you will excel in competitive exams of any sort, especially on the fundamentals of that thing. And the nature of problems posed in the examinations will change, but you can adapt if you know the fundamentals well. I hope that you will be understood how to make maximum use of our precious time.
