KARACHI: The water supply to Karachi was suspended on Monday after a pipeline at the Dhabeji siphoning station burst earlier today, ARY News detailed.
As per Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB), the 72-inch pipeline at Dhabeji burst because of force breakdown, resultantly in the suspension of water supply to numerous region of the port city.
The pipeline providing water to the city's three significant siphoning stations — North Karachi, COD and Pipri — was stifled, bringing about the suspension of water supply to regions including Bin Qasim, Landhi, Malir Town, Korangi, Jinnah Terminal CAA and others.
At the hour of the recording of this report, KWSB had started work to fix the pipeline.
The fundamental wellsprings of water for Karachi are Keenjhar Lake and Hub dam from which water is siphoned through three principal mass siphoning stations situated at Dhabeji, Gharo, and Hub.
Karachi gets 100-million gallons of water day to day from the Dam.
The Hub Dam, found 56 km from Karachi with an all out limit of 339 feet, is reached out to 24,300 sections of land with a gross stockpiling limit of 8,57,000 Section of land feet water.
