HOW UNEMPLOYMENT IS " A BIG ISSUE"

The worldwide youth unemployment rate was 13.6 percent of the young labour force in 2019, according to the International Labour Organization (2020), and is expected to rise by 0.1 percent in 2020 and even more by 0.1 percent in 2021. North Africa had the highest young unemployment rate of 30.2 percent in 2019, followed by Arab States with 22.9 percent. The lowest rates of young unemployment were 8.7% in Sub-Saharan Africa and 8.8% in Northern America. As a result, it's critical to understand the variables that make it difficult for young people to find work. Pakistan is likewise dealing with issues connected to terrorism.Unemployment, particularly among young people. The decade of the 1990s in Pakistan was marked by increased unemployment as a result of sluggish economic development and budgetary austerity.

The reorganisation and privatisation of public-sector businesses aggravated the situation (Akhtar and Shahnaz, 2006). Pakistan's unemployment rate in 2014-15 was 5.9%, according to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (2018), and it changed and fell to 5.8% in 2017-18, which is a positive development. Pakistani youth (aged 15 to 19) had an unemployment rate of 10.1 percent in 2014-15 and 10.4 percent in 2017-18, a rise of 0.3 percent. From 2014-15 (11%) to 2017-18 (0.6%), Pakistan's young (ages 20-24) rose by 0.6 percent (11.6 percent ). As a result, Pakistani young continue to be unemployed.Several scholars from throughout the world have done studies on the factors that influence juvenile unemployment. Geographic location, education, gender, skills, and marital status were identified to be key determinants determining young unemployment in Tanzania by Msigwa and Kipesha (2013).

The following suggestions are made in order to help reduce young unemployment in the Pakistan.

 

1. Pakistan's present literacy situation is unsatisfactory.No country can prosper unless its literacy rate rises. The Pakistani government should take the required steps in this regard.Increase the literacy rate by educating more people.Pakistan's rural areas

2. The government should allocate more funds to the production of goods and services All jobless kids will be able to find work.

3. All political parties should work with the main government to achieve its goals putting together a plan to reduce unemployment.

4. There should be a significant investment in agriculture sector. Pakistan's agricultural woes can be attributed to a number of factors enhanced by doing extensive agricultural studies ,Farmers' training, tax breaks, and dam construction

The information was gathered from respondents in a few Pakistani cities, including Bahawalpur, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, and Lahore.

It would be preferable if we studied more variables that contribute to young unemployment Research in the future might be More criteria were included, as well as a focus on other nations in many cultures and areas
