How Understanding Asbestos

Lung cancer is the fastest growing cancer in the world. We have seen many cases of asbestos destroying entire families in the United States. Not only have thousands of cases of asbestos victims been reported in states with a vast history in the construction industry, but the rate of lung cancer deaths has more than tripled in the last 15 years.

 

One of the most dramatic and serious complications with lung cancer is that it is common and takes 15 to 20 years to develop after exposure. It takes 15 to 20 years for asbestosis, or scar tissue, to appear. This means that those responsible for losses based on asbestos may not already be in business or may not be alive when asbestos begins to be exposed.

 

Although many companies are already aware of the dangers of asbestos, removing asbestos from older buildings can be a difficult, risky and expensive process, and is clearly not a job for enthusiasts. There is a good reason for all these precautions. Removal of asbestos from public buildings must be carried out by a state-registered licensed contractor. Obviously such terms and conditions of law vary from state to state in the United States.

 

So why do we still have buildings made of asbestos?

 

Well, the main reason is that, depending on the scope of work, removing or disposing of asbestos in a public building can cost hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars, which is a very expensive job for any company.

 

In all parts of the US, building owners must conduct a comprehensive survey of their property and report to construction inspectors. If asbestos removal is eligible, the building owner should consult and hire an authorized asbestos removal company, who will take care of removing, transporting, and demolishing this dangerous chemical. In most cases, if buildings are being demolished, if there is asbestos, it will not be allowed to be demolished. In addition, any type of school or educational center is required to prepare an AHERA, Asbestos Hazardous Emergency Response Act, and management plan, which must be maintained and made available for public inspection.

 

Now the interesting thing is how health professionals are interested in having different opinions about asbestos. According to university research, 2.3 out of every 98,000 people living in buildings constructed with cement asbestos cause lung cancer. It has been proven that the health damage caused by exposure to asbestos will definitely increase exponentially in the coming months and years. Healthcare maintenance workers and engineers inadvertently suffer from asbestos from many potential areas and sources. Boilers can be exposed to engineers when working in furnace rooms insulated from asbestos or when repairing old pipes or making minor repairs.

 

Asbestos is commonly found in ultramaphic rock, including the serpentine and nearby fault zones. The amount of asbestos present in these rocks is usually less than 1. So how does asbestos get into our lungs? Well, asbestos fibers are released into the air when the asbestos material is destroyed. Objects containing asbestos in one piece represent little or no danger to our health.
