UGANDA HAS LOST ITS ONLY AIRPORT
(ENTEBBE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT)
Uganda lost its only airport for not repaying the loan the government has failed to reserve a loan agreement with China which had repayment conditions for attaching its only airport.China has lent $207 million to Uganda from China's Export - Import Bank (EXIM) in 2015 the loan was bought for the expansion of the Uganda Airport , Entebbe Airport came with a maturity period of 20 years including a seven year grace period
The Uganda government waived off the clause for international immunity for securing the loan , following which the lender can retake possesion of Entebbe International Airport without any arbitration.Uganda Civil Aviation Authority has produced a statement with produce some Financial provisions in agreement with China has exposed Entebbe International Airport and other assets of Uganda to be taken over by Chinese lenders

Finance Minster Matia kasaija has apologised to the Chinese lenders and to the Parliment for mishandling the multi dollar budget.According to latest media reports a delegation from unganda President Yoweri Museveni has also visited china earlier to negotiate for the cause of loan aggrement but anyway the meeting was unsuccessful from the ugandian side because the chinese lenders has refused to alter the original parameters of the loan agreement

Reports in some African news portals this week suggested China could take over the Entebbe International Airport — Uganda’s only internarional aitport — over alleged default on a $200 million loan to expand the airport. However, the African country’s civil aviation regulator and Beijing have both denied the reports.
