Travelling is a wonderful experience that everyone should try in their life. It gives us happiness, knowledge, and beautiful memories. When we travel, we get a chance to see places that are different from our hometown. We see new people, new roads, new buildings and sometimes completely different weather. My teacher always says, “Travelling is the best teacher,” and now I believe it completely.
One of the most amazing things about travelling is that it shows us how big and colorful our country is. India has many states and every state has something special. Some states have beaches, some have mountains, and some have deserts. For example, Rajasthan has hot deserts, Kerala has beaches, Uttarakhand has hill stations and Punjab has huge farming fields. When we travel to these places, we understand geography in a better way than books.
Last year, my family visited Odisha. Before going there, I read about Konark temple in my book, but seeing it in real life was surprising. The Konark Sun Temple looked so giant and the carvings were very detailed. It showed how talented ancient builders were. I also saw Puri beach and enjoyed the waves touching my feet. The water was cold and it made me laugh a lot. I also collected small seashells from the shore.
Another interesting thing about travelling is food. Every state serves delicious dishes that we cannot find in normal shops. In Odisha, I tasted a dish called “Pakhala Bhaat.” At first, I was scared to try it, but after eating, I understood that every place has its own special taste. When we travel to different parts of India, we learn to enjoy different flavours and respect the food culture of others.
Travelling also teaches us history and culture. Old buildings, temples, and monuments tell us stories about kings and kingdoms. Museums show ancient coins, tools and weapons. When I see these things, I feel like time has slowed down and I am watching history with my own eyes. Before travelling, history used to feel boring to me, but now I find it interesting.
The best part of travelling is that we meet different kinds of people. Some speak Hindi, others speak Tamil, Bengali, Marathi or other languages. Even though we don’t understand every word, we can still communicate with smiles and simple sentences. People in different states live differently, but everyone treats guests with kindness. That is why India is known for unity in diversity.
Sometimes we face problems while travelling, like weather changes, long distances, or crowded places. But these problems teach us patience. If we only stay home, we never learn how to adjust in difficult situations. Travelling teaches us to stay calm, take responsibility of our belongings and listen carefully to our parents.
This year, my parents are planning another trip, maybe to Himachal Pradesh. I am very excited because I want to see snow again. My parents say planning a long trip needs time because hotels and trains get full during holidays. Sometimes they take help from travel agents in gorakhpur because they know best places to visit and best time to go. I think travel agents make our journey easier by arranging everything properly.
Travelling also teaches us to respect nature. When we visit forests, national parks and mountains, we see beautiful plants, birds and animals. But sometimes I also see plastic and garbage thrown on the ground, which makes me sad. My father always reminds me that nature belongs to animals and birds too, not only humans. So we must keep nature clean and avoid plastic bottles or packets.
One of my favourite travelling memories is from Darjeeling. When we went there, I saw beautiful green tea gardens spread like a blanket. The mountains were covered with clouds. The toy train ride was slow but very exciting. I felt like I was inside a fairy tale. People there drink special tea and wear warm clothes because the weather is cold. I learned that lifestyle changes with climate.
Travelling is also important for learning confidence. When we travel, we ask questions, talk to new people and learn new things. We also walk a lot which is good for health. It feels like exercise but more fun. Sometimes we wake up early to see sunrise or travel late night in buses and trains. These little experiences make us brave and strong.
I also love taking photos while travelling. Photos help us remember our trip forever. Whenever I look at old photos, I feel happy and relive those moments again. I even made a travel scrapbook with pictures, tickets and small notes. My teachers liked my scrapbook and asked me to show it in class.
Travelling with family also improves our bonding. We talk more, laugh more and play games during journey. At home, everyone stays busy with school, homework or office work. But during trips, we spend time together and enjoy every moment. These memories stay in our heart forever.
Sometimes my parents say that after travelling, I behave more politely and think more wisely. Maybe travelling makes us better humans because it opens our mind and teaches us to respect people, places and cultures. If we stay in one place forever, we never grow or learn new things.
I believe every student should travel at least once a year. Visiting a new place is equal to reading many chapters of a book. We can learn culture, geography, history and nature easily when we see them with our own eyes. Travelling teaches us to appreciate our country and its beauty.
In future, I want to visit Kashmir, Kerala, Goa and maybe foreign countries too. I also want to write a travel diary so that I can remember all my adventures. My dream is to see all the beautiful locations of India one day.
My father says that travelling becomes more enjoyable when everything is properly planned. That’s why sometimes families take advice from travel agents in gorakhpur, especially before long vacations. I think they help us travel happily without any tension.
