Every Orbi unit can handle a certain number of devices simultaneously. So in case this number exceeds the prescribed limit then the connection problems become common. 

✓ Weak Signal Or Interference

Sometimes placing the Orbi router too far from the satellites can weaken the signals thus the connection drops. Additionally, if there are too many electrical or metal objects or any physical hindrances in between the Orbi router and its satellites then Orbi connection problems will definitely arise. 

✓ Incorrect Setup or Configuration 

If you do not perform the initial setup correctly then the connection problems are destined to pop up. Common setup mistakes, like incorrect password or network settings, can cause connection issues.

✓ Firmware Issues

Moving further, usually users do not pay attention towards firmware updates. Therefore due to pending updates, there is network instability that leads to Orbi connection problems.

Troubleshooting Orbi Connection Problem

✓ Check For Interference 

First, if you have kept the Orbi router or Orbi satellites in an area where electrical and metals objects like refrigerator, cordless phones, security cameras, bluetooth devices, baby monitors, fish tanks or other such objects are there, then move them away from such devices. Additionally, to avoid weak signals, keep the Orbi satellites within the range of the Orbi router. 

✓ Reboot Your Orbi Devices

Sometimes, the simple solution to an Orbi connection problem is rebooting the router and satellite. For this just unplug the Orbi router as well as its satellites from the power socket. Now hold on for at least a minute. Thereafter replug them. This can instantly resolve minor connection problems. 

✓ Check Your Internet Service Provider 

In some cases, the Orbi connection problem might not be due to the Orbi system itself but an issue with your ISP (Internet Service Provider). So it's advisable to check with your provider to ensure that there are no internet outages in your locality or technical issues that are affecting your service.

✓ Update Firmware 

Pending firmware updates not only leads to connectivity issues but can also affect the security of your network. So it's important to periodically look for pending updates and if found install them at the earliest. To check for firmware updates, open any internet browser. In it type orbilogin.net or 192.168.1.1 and hit enter. From here on navigate to the settings option and then to the firmware upgrade option. Look for the updates and follow the on-screen prompts to download the same. Alternatively you can look for pending updates through the Orbi application.

✓ Reduce The Number Of Connected Devices

As written earlier too many devices can lead to connection issues. As it creates network congestion. Therefore to resolve the issue, disconnect the devices that are no longer in use or that do not require access to the internet for their working. This will instantly free up bandwidth thus leading to increase in network performance. 

✓ Reset Your Orbi System 

If the Orbi connection problem still persists then factory reset can be the saviour. But before performing this process remember, it will erase all your customized network settings. Basically the Orbi device will revert back to its factory settings. Due to which you'll have to perform the setup process all over again. Additionally, during reset make sure the Orbi router or the satellites are active. Moreover to avoid any hardware failure do not perform any other activity while the reset process is on-going. 

To reset first get a paper clip or an object or similar nature. Now insert this pin into the reset hole. Push it down gently and hold on until the power LED on the Orbi router starts to blink. Now release the pin and begin the preparation for a fresh setup.
