3-Apr-2022 — Step 5: Edit your blog post.
Make sure to avoid repetition, read your post allowed to check its flow, have someone else read it and provide feedback as needed before posting it for public review. I will also add a small list of topics or subjects that will be used in the future posts.
Step 1: Acknowledge that writing an article is not easy. (And yes this was the reason why I decided to write a series of articles rather than just two.) However, here are some tips on how you can make your writing process fun and enjoyable, so you can write more articles faster.
1) Share with others
Before publishing your first entry, create a link to your blog as well as a Facebook page and share it with other bloggers in the community. This will give people the opportunity to like and recommend and share your blog posts with their followers or a specific audience. It’s a great way to build a following without spending money on ads or promotions!
2) Add interesting sub-headers, images, links and paragraphs
Subheaders
Subheaders should help readers understand what they are reading about and also tell them about your next topic.
Adding image captions to your blog posts may seem basic but don’t forget about adding text captions like and etc. These should be included in every single sentence or paragraph and be clear enough for even Google Docs. You can use simple keywords such as “first time” or “first-time” or try using synonyms such as “quick”, “painless”, “easy” etc. In addition to creating good SEO SEO opportunities, these words can be added to attract new visitors to your blog.
3) Read your best friend’s blog, follow theirs, find common topics that other similar to yours. (For example, if I follow a WordPress blog with similar rules and terms that I would like to use in my own project or blog, then I can follow one very easily.) If you are a blogger and you are interested in writing an original article, then this might be obvious to you because you already know most of your fellow bloggers, but I believe there’s nothing wrong doing this only when you want to gain more traffic or improve your SEO and reputation. For now, go look for themes and tags that interest your blog and start from there. Find out who blogs your favourite writers or authors. Their opinions are valuable so why don’t you follow the same one? Don’t forget to follow new bloggers that you think would be helpful, too! You don’t need to become expert at all, read, watch and listen to all of the top 100 blogs. You might start by following each one you find, then start taking notes on what blog posts and topics they write about — either new content or old ones. Once you’ve collected a lot of information and ideas, go back to your blog and select those topics you’d like to write around.
4) Start with one theme and break down each idea and write around those.
As many of you know already, once you get started with your blogging and/or website creation, there are no ‘restarts’. Writing your first article, you must keep going. The key to getting better with blogging is to just pick up any subject you come across and see if you can cover it. While selecting themes, try to stick to certain topics of yours, and not just one that you think sounds interesting. So if I write this long piece explaining the benefits of pet sitting, when I read it back it looks something like this:
“I love the smell of fresh grass, and the sweet scent of freshly cut grass, which makes me a happier person. And it tastes really good too, and is much healthier for you on a regular basis. But, if you have problems in finding a suitable place for a dog, then remember that this area has been covered so many times already, and it’s been proven to work very well, so don’t worry!”
5) Get ready to edit and revise your blog post.
We can all agree that having a bunch of thoughts in our head while we’re typing, even if it is an hour later after the last word had already been written is difficult. When editing your blog post, do write to yourself and reflect on your thoughts. Also, make sure you use a Grammarly tool that will tell you where your sentences fall flat, wrong punctuation, misspelled words, etc. By looking through your post more often, you’ll notice that every word isn’t exactly the same length, spelling mistake, and also, everything seems off. One thing that’s particularly important in a blog post like yours is to ensure you use capital letters properly and make sure every term and punctuation choice matches exactly what you wrote earlier. Most importantly, take a moment or another to look around as you type, to ensure as little distraction as possible!
