Right now, someone, somewhere, will be starting to write an e-Book. Why? Some do it to make money; one of the easiest ways to start an online business. Others do it to share information they may have with those who are in the same financial, social, or medical situation; maybe you want to share how you defeated cancer or how you got out of debt.
Whatever your reason, there are basic rules to consider that will make the final product professional again. So, let's look at some of them. Anyone who starts writing an e-Book has no doubt learned a lot, too. You will know from experience that you should write in an attractively that keeps the reader's attention.
After all, you want to read ALL your e-Book, right? Also, you will want them to come back for more when you build an online business. Are there many strategies you can use to retain your readers? Attention.
Anecdotes provide real-life examples of what you are trying to convey. This gives students confidence that what you are saying really works. And they are a good way to explain complex topics. Images are also a powerful tool. They can make the topics clearer and will keep in mind the reader, more than 5000 words in the text.
They also break the e-Book and give the reader? Tags? In their favorite parts. Notes boxes, or sidebars, are also ideal for summarizing a point or for providing additional information. Like pictures, they separate text and make reading more enjoyable. Write in a conversational way so that the reader feels as if you are just talking to him.
In this way they feel that they are the only ones who benefit from your knowledge and that makes them even more valuable to them. Do not write long sentences or paragraphs. They are difficult to read and disrupt the experience. Your e-Book is more likely to be downloaded and not downloaded again.
You should also adjust the length of your paragraphs and sentences so that you do not send your readers to sleep. Text blocks of the same length will lose the reader's attention, and you'll be lucky to be awake by page 10! We mentioned earlier the use of images as a means of separating text. You may not be able to use images at any level; but there are other tricks.
The most powerful is the use of a numbered and dotted list. Even with basic word- processing programs, you can add different types of characters and use custom images as character icons. This makes your topic easier for the reader to pick up and give them a mental break in the text blocks. Finally, consider the design of your e-Book.
Choose an easy-to-read font, and stick to it. You may be tempted to change the fonts as a way of trying to make it more fun. Moses? What it does is confuse your readers, and they will turn it off. I recommend that there be space for one and a half or two lines. Separating lines too far apart makes it difficult for the reader to trace his or her whereabouts.
Too close it makes it dull. Also, choose a font size that fits the line space you are using. You can avoid a larger font (say point 14) with 1.5 line spaces, but 8 points will look weird. Experiment with different combinations to find the one that suits you but remember - what looks good on screen may look bad on the print.
