How to workout at home to gain weight

Many people associate exercise with the pursuit of weight loss or weight maintenance. However, if you are underweight or want to gain weight, you may consider exercising to gain weight. Exercise is great for weight loss and overall health, but it can also be used as a healthy way to gain weight.

This article explains what you need to know to gain weight while exercising at home. We also provide nutritional guidance focused on weight gain and muscle building.

Body weight training is great for training at home, as the only equipment you usually need is your own body. Consider adding these strength-building body weight exercises to your at-home training routine.

Squat:

Body weight squats are an effective way to build muscle at home without equipment. Try different squat techniques like sumo squats, squat walks and side step squats to target different muscles and add variation.

Push-ups:

Push-ups are a great way to work your upper body without using weights. Similar to squats, you can try different techniques to make push-ups more difficult or to target specific muscles. Try standard push-ups, high push-ups, or two-handed push-ups for a change of pace.

You don't need a home gym with tons of equipment to work out at home. Instead, consider using several sets of dumbbells and resistance bands of different weights. Check out these easy weight exercises you can do at home.

Weighted exercises for the lower body:

Many lower body workouts can also be made more challenging by adding weight. Consider adding weight to movements like squats, lunges, and jumps. This allows you to build muscle while still being able to exercise easily at home.

Weighted upper body exercises:

There are various upper body weight training exercises that you can easily do at home. A bench can be helpful, but almost all movements can be modified to be performed with just one set of dumbbells. Our favorite exercises included bicep curls, rows, front raises, and alternating row push-ups.

Always remember that form is paramount when it comes to weight training. Don't be afraid to lift less weight if you can't perform the movement safely or correctly with the heavier weight. Watch YouTube videos or talk to an experienced personal his trainer to guide you on proper form.

What should I eat to gain weight?

When you're training to gain weight and build muscle, it's also important to pay attention to your diet. Training is only part of the equation that leads to weight gain. While it may be tempting to reach for high-calorie foods that are deficient in nutrients, there are better ways to reach your nutritional goals.

Eat protein-rich foods, from meats to eggs to vegetarian options. Protein is your ally when trying to gain weight. You don't have to avoid carbs or healthy fats. Both are important not only for your health, but also for your weight gain goals.

Always remember that everyone's nutritional needs are different and there is no perfect diet for everyone. Trust your intuition. But if you have a specific goal, don't be afraid to ask for help with your diet. In some cases, hiring a nutritionist or nutritionist to evaluate what you're doing and what you could do better can go a long way towards achieving your goals.
