How can one use a social media for business? One might ask. Because technically, social medias are for virtual human interactions, right? Let’s see it this way. You have a business of desserts. You have your bakers, you have the food ready, and you somehow managed to sell your sweet delicious desserts. At one point, you decided to take your business to another level, and for that, you want to approach investors so that you can have an actual shop with a larger target audience. And after listening to your pitch about your business, they asked about your portfolio. Then, what you can do is show your Instagram account with your product photoshoot and highlights of reviews posted by your customers in their stories. Voila! Your portfolio is right in your pocket.
But the question is, how do we do it? How to use Instagram that will bring leverage to our business? I will be talking about some steps that can be taken so that you can promote your business for free!
- Work on your theme.
Since you will be using your Instagram account as a portfolio, it needs to be well organized. Try to work with a theme for a month. It will be like a monthly campaign. Don’t forget to diversify your theme every month. To do this more efficiently, you can talk to professionals who work with Instagram Feed Management, or you can download a feed management app like Later or Plann. - Be yourself!
Do it your way. If you like a specific font in your design, try to stick to that. Choose your design pattern and fonts wisely. If you are always changing patterns and fonts, you will be losing your uniqueness. Yes, you have to work with modifying your theme every month but stick to some elements that will make you unique and different. - Hashtags on the go!
When you are done writing copy for your caption, use hashtags. Not just any hashtags, hashtags that are relatable and have more posts on them. This can help you grow on a regular basis. Do some research on your hashtags. There are lots of chrome extensions and mobile applications that can help you in this regard. - Highlight your reviews.
Whenever, your customer is posting a story about your product, that is a review. Store them as highlights. This will help you to get words words words words here some more jokes. more customers interested in your business!
And lastly, you have to be consistent. Yes taking breaks are important, but not when you are just starting out! You have to upload everyday to stay relevant and keep getting more followers, who are actually your potential buyers. No matter how good your product is, you need to sell it. And unless you keep posting on social media consistently, you can never be able to sell your products. And this does not end here. There are lots of other stuff that can be done with other features of Instagram, but that is another story. I hope to publish that whole another story very soon!
