How to set up a Google Pay account
First, you will need a bank account and a phone number should be linked to that account. One should have debit card details
Now these are the steps to create Google Pay account,
- download Google Pay app from play store or app store.
- Enter the mobile number which is registered to your bank account that will be linking to Google Pay.
- You will then receive a one-time password(OTP) on the mobile number, just enter it your verification process will be completed.
- Now for security process you will be asked 'Screen Lock' or 'Use Google Pin'. Select the desired option and then continue. After that, need to set up Google Screen lock or pin. Once completed, Google Pay is ready to use.
What is UPI PIN
UPI PIN- Unified Payment Interface Personal Identification Number.
UPI-PIN is a 4-6 digit secret code you create or set when you link a bank account. Each linked bank account would have its own UPI PIN. It is used whenever you send money or check balance through UPI app.
You can also reset your UPI PIN, if you forget your UPI PIN, you can create a new one.
For that debit card details is necessary, enter last 6 digits of your card number and expiry date, After that you can create new UPI PIN, By entering OTP you get by SMS.
If you enter an incorrect PIN more than 3 times, you must reset your PIN or wait 24 hours to make your transaction. You can't send or receive money during this process.
How to make online payments using Google Pay
If you want to purchase anything in shop just scan QR code, enter amount, security PIN and your payment is done.
You can also send and receive money from friends and family members, just click on "New Payment" button, if that person is on Google Pay you will be able to send money by tapping on 'Pay' button. Enter the amount, security PIN and then send it.
You can also make other payments like Mobile recharge, Bill payment and other payment categories. Select any categories to pay bills.
Google Pay offers many cashback or rewards after few transactions.
How to use G Pay QR Code
When you sign in, sometimes Google takes extra steps to make sure it's you. You might have the option to scan a Quick Response(QR) code from a device where you have already signed in.
On your Android mobile, open the built-in camera app. Point the camera at the QR code.
Tap the banner that appears on your mobile.
Follow the instructions on the screen to finish signing in, If you can't sign in there is another method

- Sign in to your Google Account on the new device. When you see the QR code, stay on that screen.
- On a device you have already signed in on, open a web browser, like Chrome.
- At the top of the browser, enter "Verify Account" it's you.
