The anti-bacterial and antiviral properties of aloe vera gel can bring many benefits to your skin – especially the delicate skin of your face and neck. Although aloe vera is the main ingredient of many beauty products, you can use pure aloe vera gel to apply directly to your face. When applied correctly, the gel helps moisturize your skin to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It can also be used to reduce the appearance of acne.
1
Gently apply the aloe vera gel with your fingers.
To get the full benefits of aloe vera gel on your skin, apply it lightly. There is no need to massage your face very well with this. If the gel is absorbed too deeply, it can have the opposite effect and make your face dry.[2]
Use only a thin layer of the gel. There is no need to use it all the way. You won't get much benefit from a thick layer.
For best results, leave the aloe vera gel on your face for 10 minutes, then rinse your face with cool water and pat it dry. If pure aloe vera gel is left on the face for a long time, it can lead to dryness.
2
Cleanse your face with aloe vera gel twice a day:
Aloe vera gel can act as both a good facial cleanser and moisturizer when used properly. In the morning and evening, apply a thin layer to your skin. Wash off with cool water, and then pat your face dry.[3]
Avoid rubbing the skin on your face, especially the skin around the eyes. It can damage and weaken your skin.

For oily skin, prepare a moisturizing facial scrub.
If you have oily skin and are prone to acne, you will find all the traditional moisturizers increasing your skin's tendency to acne. Mix brown sugar and aloe vera gel to make an effective scrub to easily remove the dead skin cells that can clog your pores while simultaneously providing healthy moisture to the skin.[4]
To make this scrub, take a small amount of brown sugar on the palm of your hand. Add aloe vera gel till all the sugar is well moistened.
Spread this mixture evenly over your entire face, avoiding the delicate skin under your eyes. Massage for 1 to 2 minutes, then wash off with cool water and pat your skin dry.
Use this scrub twice a week or as needed. If your skin becomes too oily, stop applying it.

Use aloe vera gel accordingly to get maximum benefits:
Aloe vera gel can help you moisturize your skin and improve skin tone. However, because the enzymes in the gel act as an exfoliator, repeated use can dry out your skin.[5]
When the skin becomes very dry, then the oil comes out in it. If you use aloe vera gel too often, you will cause your skin to release too much oil. Because of this, the pores can get blocked, and acne can come out.
If you are starting to use aloe vera gel on your skin, wash it off immediately, or do not leave it on your face for more than 10 minutes.
