Why did PTA block your phone?
After a certain period of use, if your mobile phone is not registered with the PTA, your phone may be blocked. Registering your phone is important as it helps the PTA keep track of officially imported and smuggled devices in Pakistan. In most cases, suck phones owned by the owner while traveling abroad are not registered with the PTA, and the appropriate tax must be paid to continue using them.
Here's how to easily unblock your phone that has been blocked by the authorities :
1. Open the official PTA website.
2. In the lower right corner, you will see a menu. Select the last option, 'Online Mobile Registration,' to continue.
3. Once you click this option, a new tab will automatically redirect you to creating a new account and registering as a new user.
4. You will be asked to provide your name, telephone number, email address, postal address, city, passport number, CNIC, and password.
5. Once you have completed all the details on the form, your registration process will end.
6. You will be emailed an opening link where you can get access to your account.
7. Log in to your newly created account and register your phone.
8. It is important to remember that you can register one cell phone at no cost per year. For any other phones, you wish to register, you will have to pay tax.
9. You will also need to add your IMEI number, which is available in the phone box.
10. Once you submit the form, you will receive a message on your phone giving you the details of your PSID and COC ID number.
11. If there is any tax bill you need to pay your phone, it will also be mentioned in the SMS.
12. To complete the registration of your PTA-blocked phone, you will need to pay taxes to any major Pakistani bank branch such as MCB, ABL or NBP, etc.
13. When you pay, you will receive a message indicating that the PTA has now approved your phone.

Tax calculation depends on the price of the device you are using. The more expensive phone you are using, the more you have to pay tax. Even if you import a used phone from abroad, the tax targeted will be at its current market level. But this way, you can easily unlock your phone.
